Everything was very good easy check in and friendly staff. The room is spacious and clean, I enjoyed the refrigerator and microwave, they provide a coffee maker also. Easy parking and the hotel is easy to find. The layout is convenient with the Bar and Restaurant are centrally located. Nice hotel, clean, friendly and efficient staff, I recommend The Silverwood for everyone.

Really liked how friendly and helpful the staff were. The communal area was great to sit and chat with patrons. Made it feel more like a home living room not just a commercial establishment.

Friendly Atmosphere. Got to know staff. Helpful with local attractions. Rooms were huge. We were there on a Sunday so got to try a homestyle jiggs meal. Great start to our vacation.

It's an odd little property for sure but it's loaded with character and the people who work there are delightful. Our room had two big armchairs in addition to the beds (very "mom and pop" vibe). There's a cute little vestibule and a big seating area in the lobby with chairs and couches and books to read. They keep the coffee on (or will put a pot on for you). It's very quaint with a real Newfoundland vibe. We loved it. There's not much of interest in the immediate area but enough places to get food so it's convenient for that. It's a good jumping off point for visiting local attractions. We would stay there again.

Was an average motel. No AC in rooms. Could hear doors slamming shut, not very quiet. Beds were older and hard. Restaurant didnt serve breajfast. Owners were friendly though. Would probably not stay here again..

Hi Shirley, Sorry for uncomfortable stay. We take your complaints seriously and upon review was discovered that you where offered a window AC even with night time temp. 13-14 degrees. You where also offered a complimentary toasted bagel, coffee & tea served to you. The night watchman reports although the hotel was booked there was no noise after 12am. Please address any concerns you have with the front desk in the future hotels as this could have been taken care of.

Staff are obliging and friendly, outside is being renovated with log siding, inside is clean and cosy, rooms are large with air conditioners, we enjoyed our stay.

Our one-night stay at Silverwood was very nice. The owners/staff were so pleasant and engaging. Their dining room was closed when we arrived, but they made great suggestions as to where we could some places open and directions on how to get there. They were full of information about the area and had a library stacked with picture books and magazines of Newfoundland. They provided a breakfast, which was more than enough. The only drawback for me was a cold shower as several others were showering at the same time, and it caused a problem with hot water supply. Despite that, I would definitely go back again to this homey environment, which felt more like a bed 'n breakfast than a hotel/motel.

Comfortable but high priced
The place is pretty old but well-maintained. It really is too expensive ($170 for one night, no breakfast) for what you get. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. But there were few people here so it was quiet.
