15 minute drive to Parris Island for MCRD graduations, 25 minute drive to Hunting Island (parking pass included) for beaches, historic lighthouse, visitor center, walks & nature. 5 minute walk to the Spanish Moss Trail for walking, biking and running, 10 minute drive to Cypress Wetlands for wildlife including gators, turtles and birds, 10 minute drive to Shell Beach for shark tooth hunting, 15 minute drive to Penn Center for Gulluh and African American History, one and a half hour drive to Charleston, one hour drive to Savannah and Hilton Head, 45 minute drive to Bluffton.
