”Room was delightful,spacious, clean and had great tea making facilities. Staff were welcoming and happy to chat. We loved the Halls historic features which were highlighted in Christmas decor making it very special. We enjoyed a walk around the gardens in the morning before heading off a short distance into York. Fabulous stay and will be back again! Many thanks”

”A lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, offering cosy, comfortable rooms that make for a relaxing stay. There are several pubs nearby, and it’s easy to reach York city centre by bus, or by a scenic 40-minute walk. A great balance of peace and convenience — I’ll definitely be returning.”

”Everything was perfect. Except no plug in the sink and the water was very hot. So not able to mix water. Also not informed it was self check in till I got there . Easy once explained though ”

”Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for. ”

”What a beautiful room! Great to have a sofa and a big tv with lots of channels to choose from. Slept fairly well, but there was no aircon and the windows opened just a little bit. It’s a bit far from the city centre but totally walkable. Train station about 10 min walk away. It was a lovely stay overall, but very pricey.”

”Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended.”

”Room was pretty cold (17 C) but heating unit helped a bit. Room was a little dirty but it was ok. Parking possibility for 10 GBP/night. Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy. Pretty old building - brought nice vintage feel but ventilation lacking. Friendly staff!”

”The welcome from the the Receptionist was excellent ensured we had a suitable room to meet our needs. Hotel room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The room was heated individually, controlled in the room. Breakfast was excellent lots of hot and cold choices. Highly recommend especially due to the onsite parking which is a bonus in York. All the staff are very polite and friendly.”

”A truly wonderful stay over the festive period. The new spa is lovely and room 452 was SO quiet and spacious, highly recommended. The only downside which I pointed out two years ago is that the shower lets the room down as it’s not powerful enough and looks dated too. A short taxi ride or lovely walk into the centre with everything you could wish for. Please note valet parking is £39.50 and the Soa £45 per person in addition to the room.
