”Stay overall was okay. Staff were nice enough and helpful just often difficult to locate at times. Hotel rooms in coach house outside were on the face of it nice. But then you quickly realise they are riddled with spiders and spider webs. Could also hear what sounded like rodents scratching through the night. The coach house is very old and I think this may add to the challenges. The wooden beams in areas were stuffed with loo roll where in were large spider nests and lots of webs. The food...

”The tv didn’t work. Reported on 1st night. Promised to rectify next day. Never happened. There was no hot water. Reported on 1st night. Told to run tap for a long time. Shower was not fit for purpose. I could not get it to work other than cold. There was no extractor working in the tiny en-suite.”

”The bed was really uncomfortable, which was a surprise for a PI, as they pride themselves on the bed comfort. The bar was open late which was great. The parking is small, only 17 spots and you pay for this daily. ”

”We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay.”

”Lindsey and Richard run a wonderful B&B with a cooked to order breakfast with farm fresh eggs. The rooms are spotless and well taken care of during the stay by Lindsey. The area is quiet at night for a good sleep, the yard and gardens lovely, and an excellent pub close by. We really hope to be back one day.”

”Reception was excellent. Grounds/estate amazing, miles of walking and an historic church with a 900 or so old Yew. It is worth reading the history of the place, layers and layers of it. They take beautiful care of the property. I had a beautiful room with a beautiful view right out my doors and a little patio. They do host big events ie weddings and it is not as peaceful, so you may want to check if there is a big event - IF you are seeking more quiet. I would return in a blink. In general i...

”This property is stunning. It has great access to the small villages nearby and its own property is situated on lots of beautiful acreage. The rooms are lovely, and the breakfast was outstanding. The staff contributed substantially to making this a wonderful day.”

”There actually was not a breakfast. However, the hotel includes a charming pub where we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch. As a whole we very much enjoyed the White Horse Inn. Our room seemed a little small and we shared a bathroom. We did find a restaurant within a short walking distance where we enjoyed breakfast. ”
