”The Hogs Head Inn was a great place to stay to explore Northumberland, with convenient bus and train connections to the beach and historic sites. Staff were very helpful, the breakfast was ample and delicious as were dinner selections. I will seriously consider related hotels when returning to the UK. ”

”Great staff, couldn’t do enough including one lending me his phone cable. Reasonably priced accommodation and food. Beautiful setting near Beamish museum. Large comfy bed, bath robes, bottled water and teabag’s etc. Shower grouting could do with a clean but good pressure. Very shallow washbasin which splashed you when the taps turned on if you’re not aware of it. Would definitely stay again.”

”Large comfortable room. Good bed. View onto meadow / field. Easy parking. Lovely touches such as lots of different high quality teabags, coffee and hot chocolate plus nice biscuits. Didn’t eat there but pub and restaurant attached with relaxed atmosphere. Staff kindly let me have a pint after pub tills were shut when I came in late. Good value and easy enough to get into Durham for a concert - all hotel options in Durham centre were over £200 for the same night. Would definitely go back. ”

”Staff were really friendly but there was no property owned parking so had to park across the road in a public car park. The bed was large and comfortable with good quality linen. We were given a special access room on the ground floor but we were looking forward to a bath in the room which is what I thought we had booked but not a major issue but if you are booking you may want to make them aware if you want a bath rather than wet room. ”

”A lovely friendly and welcoming place. Our room had a great fresh and clean smell as we entered and when I requested extra little milk cartons I was asked if I preferred fresh milk - oh yes. The beds were very comfy. Just what we needed. A table was reserved for our evening meal and it didn't disappoint. I hadn't expected the possibility of a roast Sunday dinner on the evening, and it was amazing, delicious and I didn't leave a scrap. My hubby was just as thrilled with his steak and ale pie....

”We had a really excellent 5 day stay. Our room (3) was huge with 2 kingsize beds and a large sofa. Bathroom was also a good size. The breakfast was good with excellent friendly, prompt service. A really good location for visiting the area and not too busy. Parking was never a problem. It would have been useful to have some plug-in bed side lights rather than battery operated nightlights. ”All the staff at the Anglers Arms were lovely, they couldn’t do enough for you. All the food we had (3 breakfasts &. 1 dinner) was very good. The hotel is in need of some modernisation but we know that Joanne and the team are working on this, given a little time they will get everything right but in the meantime it is still a good place to stay and excellent value.”
