”I paid £55 for family room, apparently other rooms start at £35. I didn’t need the family room but surprisingly it was all that they had left. The Hotel is undergoing some much needed refurbishment, everything about the hotel is dated, and either worn out or broken. The carpets were thread bear in places and had tape over some of the larger holes. The floors were very uneven to walk over. The furniture was very dated. The bedroom door was just a lightweight internal door, and not a fire rated...

”Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. ”The hotel was lovely and I was happy with my stay. I really enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi and thought it was very well-maintained. However, I woke up covered in bed bug bites. I was very surprised as the room seemed very clean but over the course of the next couple of days 40 or so bites appeared. ”Accommodation is fine. Breakfast menu is a selection of fried, unhealthy or coated in butter. Needs to be better to compete with other local providers”

”Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu”

”Stayed for business. Wifi poor, furniture very worn, generally needs some TLC. TV had no signal and staff seemed to be aware of issue but it has never been fixed. Food good ans parking easy.”

”The host was very kind and helpful. The room was small for three people, and hot. It was right on the road so we had to keep the window closed all night. Perhaps an upstairs room would be more comfortable. The stay was certainly fine, but quite simple/basic.”

”The spa and pool was love, we realkt enjoyed it, but we had no kettle in our room we walked to reception and asked for one, I offered to collect it and take it back but they saud no a member of staff will bring it , we never received it, so couldn't have any drinks in our room, room was clean but dated , but on the whole we enjoyed it, breakfast was great”
