” Had an amazing stay. Hotel,spa and grounds so lovely! Super, lovely garden room with views towards the lake!The staff here really do go above and beyond! Loved the spa with fantastic staff! The meal in the Grill was fantastic! Loved the real fires, especially in the great main Hall Highly recommend a stay here! Wish we could have stayed longer!”

”Spent one night in the hotel. The hotel is situated by a lake and the surroundings are pretty. We were pleasantly surprised when we got upgrated for a better room. The room was AMAZING: big, clean, had a luxury feel to it and lovely view to the lake. The cooked breakfast was tasty and staff friendly. Only downside was that there was no dinner served. Would love to stay in this hotel again :)”

”This is a small independent, dog friendly hotel. Its quite old fashioned, but the fact that it is independent makes up for any minor flaws...the staff were brilliant, frindly and efficient.”

”For £60 a night I had a clean and comfy bed, a hot shower, and a tea and coffee station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Yes, it is a little noisy and crooked, but it's an old pub with normal pub hours so that's to be expected. I'm a female in my early 30s travelling on my own and I felt very safe and welcomed. Obviously this is not the hotels fault so still rating a 5, but just make sure you have a decent car to get there as the route is very steep and goes through a mountain range. The...

”Karen is a brilliant hostess. She welcomes you into her beautiful historic, unbelievably cosy home, some of which dates back to the days of Tudor. The rooms are spotlessly clean and warm. The full English breakfast is substantial and very tasty. It is well posted, being only a 5 minute walk from the lakeside and a two minute walk from the bus stop to Keswick or Workington. I will definitely be going back.”
