Terrible Experience – ADA Violation, Unsanitary Room, and Unauthorized Charges
I booked a stay at AmeriCoast Inn through Expedia, and the experience was unacceptable. The room was extremely unsanitary and had a strong foul odor, making it unfit for occupancy. Despite declaring my son service dog and providing ID upon check in the hotel. I was charged $250 as a “pet fee”, the next morning which is a clear violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Then lied they about the stay and said my son nor I stayed there and finally admitted it when I submitted proof!! The room smelled horrible , like sewage and mold , stained towels , rude weekend workers. NO ICE machine and the ocean view lol there isn’t also , you can hear everything and because they basically stole money we had to sleep in the car the second night of the (smell)because we had nowhere to go causing my account to be overdraft
Expedia representatives refused to escalate the matter or assist, leaving me financially harmed when the unauthorized charge caused my account to go negative. Both Expedia and AmeriCoast Inn failed to provide basic consumer protections, including a safe, clean room and proper handling of a service animal.
I cannot recommend this hotel or Expedia and strongly advise future guests to proceed with caution. Expedia refused to help or escalate, leaving me financially harmed. I do not recommend this hotel or booking through Expedia. Reporting to all proper authorities
