”Having read the reviews I was a little concerned that staying here was a poor choice but I was pleasantly surprised. Double room was indeed dated in terms of decor but all still in good condition with all one could need. Super comfy bed, spacious room, good ensuite and big TV. Wardrobe, hair dryer, tea and coffee and bedside lamp so all good. Would definitely go back. ”

”The staff were lovely and helpful when parking, checking in and checking out. The room was clean and comfortable. As a historic property, the floors did groan a bit at times, but that makes sense. The shower was a little fidgity to get started, but the tub was incredible! We had so much space. Breakfast was delicious and filling - so nice to have a solid, hot breakfast before a day out. We would definitely visit again. ”

From the negative side we did not receive any information prior to arrival that checkin and payment can only be done online even though there is a checkin counter at the hotel. Minor annoyance. Bigger annoyance was that we had a three bedroom apartment and only one bed was made. ”
