”The cottage was clean, cozy and absolutely perfect. I stayed in 11A and it was awesome. It had a cabin feel, and a great view of the trees and river. Loved the loft too! I'd stay here again. It was close to town but felt like it was far away in the woods. I loved the fireplace but if I could change one thing, I'd put a hot tub on the deck. A great getaway overall! ”

”It was a comfortable get away. But I did expect better based on the price. Having to plug in the lamp between beds to have light was inconvenient. The heater was loud all night - even when we turned it off. The bathroom door isn’t on it’s track right and I almost got locked in. The bathroom doesn’t have a light separate so as not to turn on the whole vanity light in the middle of the night. ”

”Check in was the hardest part of the stay. The computer system was down so we went to grab and food and crossed our fingers that we could come back to check in. Luckily it worked out for us. The room, the pool, hot tub and koi pond were a big hit with my family. We would stay there again.”

”It's one of the "all the above" places. Great and courteous staff, proud chef, clean room, locals hangout. Maticulous assistants (one was double checking the cleaning crew). Had the fish and chips. Never had chips like that before. They were awesome. Fish rivalled the restaurants here in Monterey.”

”I’ve stayed at Ocean Gate Inn several times when visiting my son at UCSC, and the staff has always been kind and professional. One thing I really appreciate is how they go above and beyond — I’ve arrived as late as 1 a.m., and they’ve called to make sure I was still coming, which shows great customer service. Sometimes I show up with two cars (mine and my son’s), and the man at the front desk always says it’s fine and never makes a big deal about it. The rooms are clean, it’s in a safe area,...
