”Very nice hotel and room. Great decor. Evening meal was ok, nothing special. Breakfast was slow, staff were struggling to cope. Do not park under the big tree at the entrance. Birds overhead!”

”Already the premises give out a reassuring feeling of care and comfort. This is then corroborated by the quiet and clean rooms, warm and cosy, along with a spacious breakfast area which presents a good variety of food, replicated for the dining area. All this topped with an ample parking space. Last, but certainly not least, the caring and welcoming staff just make it a must to want to go back.”

”The hotel seemed to be short staffed during breakfast service. The staff seemed annoyed when we ordered eggs. For some reason, the radiators were on full blast in the corridor between reception and the rooms despite it being 30+ degrees outside. So it was a bit uncomfortable. The air conditioning wasn’t great in our room. It was blowing but the air wasn’t cooled. A red light was flashing on the temperature control. To be fair, the hotel could have probably resolved these issues if we had...

”We stayed here for a wedding at Bourton Hall, the location is great and the outdoor/conservatory area is fantastic for drinks in the sun. The room was clean and comfortable, however the walls were pigging and in desperate need of repainting. Overall was a great stay though.”

”We like the Sparrow because of its location - near junction of A46 and M6 and it’s quite comfortable as well. We didn’t try the food on this occasion.”

”All the hotel staff we encountered were friendly and helpful from arrival to departure which made for an enjoyable stay. Our room was a good size with a four poster bed and a nice view to the front of the property. The hotel public areas looked great and were well kept. Food and drink prices in the hotel and grounds a little on the high side.”

”Beautiful and spotless hotel and rooms. 5* however, we had paid for full breakfast on both days. First days brilliant, second day not so. Waitress not very welcoming then said sorry no cooked breakfast. Issue in kitchen so only continental available. It’s not our fault and nothing we can do. There were no croissants or fresh bread to cut, just slices. One of the toasters had a notice saying only use left side and only two strawberry yoghurts were left. I had to ask for tea on three...

”Recently thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay at The Old Vicarage, having visited in Sept 2025, I immediately booked again for Feb 2026. Once again the location was idyllic, our room and shared kitchen were excellent. The owners Gerry & Patricia were fabulous hosts, the dogs Frank & Elsa were very welcoming and the kitten Jennifer was lovely. The breakfasts, both full English and scrambled eggs with salmon were outstanding. In the afternoon we visited the nearby Heart of the Shires Shopping...
