We arrived at Villa del Arco around 12:30, 3.5 hours before check in. Thankfully, the staff was kind enough to store our luggage and give us resort bracelets so that we could eat at the resort while we waited for check in, however they made us wait until exactly 4pm to allow us to go to the room, They wouldn’t let us in earlier at all.
The room was very nice and clean but we did immediately notice a sewer smell all around the room and resort, Tjey definitely have some old pipes and/or plumbing issues. The water pressure and temperature for the water was fine though, no issues there.
The food options are pretty decent here. We loved the taco bar which opens for lunch, the best quesadillas and fresh guacamole and chips. We ate those everyday. The breakfast buffets were also very good, we went to the omelette bar every morning for fresh made omelette and eggs. We ate at Neptune the last night for my birthday and were shocked at the prices. We had the all inclusive package thank goodness but if we didn’t, our bill would have been $214usd for chicken Alfredo pasta, salmon, gyoza and California rolls, soda and ice tea. Maybe that’s reasonable in that area but we thought that was insane.
My husband had requested room decorations for the day of my birthday which they said they would do as a surprise but they never came.
Beware this is a timeshare resort, they will try to make you go to a 90 minute presentation. It’s more like 3 hours!
