Basic but functional
It’s basic but a good price, not sure the breakfast was worth the money ask would probably take my own if I went again.

Very comfy bed and nice staff! Lots of parking also.

I m not happy with your booking as i book bedroom for 3 people but was allocated in bedroom srprate for man and seorate forvwoman and didn't have bedroom for second n8ggt so have to find somewhere else to stay. I woyld like to pyt complaine and claime refund fir second night

Historic building, formerly a private hunting lodge, somewhat remote with no phone service and no internet. Great for a digital detox and nature trip. Beautiful surroundings and views. Friendly and welcoming staff. Property and furnishings are a little worn but for the price paid was what I expected.

Great scenery in its surroundings
YHA Snowdon is a great place to stay and enjoy the beautiful scenery overlooking the lake and surrounding mountains of Snowdonia National Park. Very friendy staff and guests as well

I liked that it was a stones throw from the lake and only a few minutes from Snowdon perfect for our 3am start climb challenge....what I was angry about was the reservation I made through Expedia was not honoured by the people running the building..I made a reservation for a private room due to us needing to sleep undisturbed and be able to leave early without waking anyone..the group were made to stay in a big room with others who made so much noise that we ended up with less than 4 hours broken sleep.. The kitchen window round the back of the property has a broken lock and no handle meaning anyone could have got in which left us feeling unsafe ... I will not be recommending this house to any of my friends or family

Overpriced
do realise I booked a stay in a hostel. What I didn’t expect was to book into a hostel and pay £65 for a closet that looked nothing like the photos on the website with no room to turn around and not even a hook to hang a jacket on. It also smelled like it could do with a good clean. The gentleman who checked us in was lovely, the toilet and shower facilities were as we expected (like I said, we knew it was a hostel) but the room was only a small improvement from sleeping in our car. They need to update the pictures on their website to give a more accurate idea of what you’re booking.

Lovely view from the window
Nice hostel with a friendly staff. Beautifully located with an incredible view on the lake and mountains. We slept in a room with 10 people which wasn't ideal even though we booked 6 bed one. The beds were basically bunk beds however in a very spacious room and very clean. The hostel has a very pleasant common room overlooking what's best - the mountain and a lake.

Beautiful Location
It's not the best YHA I've stayed in but it's ok and in a beautiful setting handy for all the activities in and around Snowdonia. I stayed in the main house and the building is a bit tired - missing coat hooks, curtains not hung properly and leaks which left a soaking carpet.... but the bedding was clean, the showers looked like they'd been recently updated and the staff were lovely. It was a cheap sleep and served its purpose so I probably would stay again.

Really poor hotel
This hotel was the worst hotel experience I have had, starting off with the fact that I booked two individual rooms for 5 people, I get there and they inform us that it is a dorm room shared with others. Hence I had to pay another 70 pounds and order that instead. The toilets where also out of service can, so there was no flush, the hot water was not running properly either. No WiFi either. Worst experience ever for a hotel hands down.

Great location, ruined by dirt
Such a beautiful place and full of character, but very dirty and unkempt. Room was comfortable as per YHA standards, I.e. very basic and sparse but oh Lord it was filthy. Windows, carpets and door handles, curtains, lights cords, windowsills- not properly cleaned for a long time. Tables at dinner time still not wiped after breakfast. Reception desk sticky with dirt. Pillows underneath the pillow cases grey. Window in our bathroom broken. Windows in a dining hall decorated with large greasy smears of food and cobwebs. Also, bring all your food, unless you are happy to pay £10 for 4 slices of pizza and a handful of chips. Seriously. I am aware that YHA is not Ritz but I am after basic hygiene rather than spa and luxuries. Overall, such gorgeous place, spoilt by dirty hostel.

Good Location; Missing some expected ameneties
No lockers anywhere!!! (when asked staff about this they claimed Dont Worry, Theft not a problem here) had to lock our valuables in the car boot. No wifi or cell phone service in this building, made it difficult to plan our day; not even hotel computer for guests to use. Only 2 plug sockets for a room of 20 people!! This is totally unacceptable. All doors slam so loud in the building, hard to sleep. Bright green emergency light on in bedroom the whole night. Ok if you have eye mask, ear plugs, no valuables and no need for internet. Bed was comfy and showers hot with good water pressure. ALSO, CLOSEST PETROL STATION 20 MILES AWAY!

YHA near Mt Snowdon
We stayed 2 nights as we walked up Mt Snowdon to raise much needed funds for Autisim. Room was good bed was quite comfy my only problem was there was only 1 pillow and they were all quite flat. Staff were lovely very friendly. It is very much a get away from it all as we had no wifi access nir did i have mobile signal (tesco mobile) but i didnt miss it ay all after about an hr and actually it was great to enjoy the area which I completely did, mobike pucs had to wsit to b uploaded a day later ☺ Definately stay again xx

Generally a great place to turn down, especially on budget tour. Lake view room is a plus point to our stay.
