  • An old farmhouse transformed into a Mediterranean villa with delicate and welcoming furnishings, with a private swimming pool and large green areas reserved for pure relaxation.

    The very particular city of Caltagirone, with its baroque buildings, its famous tradition of ceramics, but also its restaurants and shops, is only 7 km away. At 40 km you will find the famous beaches of Ragusa. Archaeological sites of immense value, such as the Greek temples of Agrigento and the Roman Villa del Casale, the Baroque masterpieces in the Val di Noto, and natural wonders such as the Scala dei Turchi can all be reached between 30 and 90 minutes by car.

    Renovated with eco-sustainable materials and technologies, Villa Madera is an oasis where you can meet up with your family by the pool, where you can reconcile with nature in an immense garden and where you can start to enjoy the art of a rich and extraordinary Sicilian past.

    N.B. The owner lives in a cottage nearby the villa and it has 3 sweets dogs who do not bother their guests unless you would like to cuddle them. If you are afraid of animals please let us know and they will be kept inside during your stay.

    N.B. On request, it is possible to add a single bed in two double bedrooms or a third single bed in the mezzanine.

    The private pool measures 15x5 m. It goes from 1.25 to 1.50 m deep and it is open all year round.

    Villa Madera is a bright six bedrooms villa with natural and restful tones gathered all around the 15m private pool. Five of the six bedrooms have an independent entrance from the garden and a private bathroom with shower. The sixth bedroom is on a mezzanine.
    Immersed as it is in its 3 hectares of garden bordering a wood, the villa is the ideal place to recharge your batteries by breathing deeply the scents of Sicilian nature.

We loved the house which is even more pretty than in the fotos and Antonio and Carmelo were super helpful whenever we needed something or had a question. They had very good recommendations for Trattorias and restaurants (Anime e core or Laconderia in Caltagirone) and markets! We loved it! Our friends and family were 8 people and every couple essentially had a private apartment with their own bedroom and bathroom and each one had a private external entrance. The common areas inside and outside were excellent and the kitchen was phenomenal. The absolute best was Carmelo and Antonio. They we friendly, responsive and very helpful. They even shared their local honey with us. We loved it!!!!

Unser Aufenthalt in der Riserva del Noce war traumhaft! Die liebevoll renovierte Villa mit mediterranem Flair, tollem Garten und großem Pool lädt zum Entspannen ein. Die Schlafzimmer sind geräumig und teils mit eigenem Bad sowie Zugang zum Garten ausgestattet. Antonio, der Schlüsselmeister, war super freundlich, kompetent und stets hilfsbereit – vielen Dank dafür! Auch Giulia ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, sehr erfahren und zuverlässig. Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag: Die Auffahrt zur Villa ist aktuell recht holprig und könnte erneuert werden. Ansonsten alles top – wir kommen gerne wieder!

We really enjoyed ourselves, in this beautiful villa! The kitchen has everything you need and more. The rooms are comfortable, clean and decorated. The pool is big and fun. The landscaping and pots add a lot of color and interest. Lily the dog is charming and Romeo the cat is the real king! Highly recommended !

We had a wonderful stay! The hosts were incredibly friendly and always available whenever we had questions. It was a lovely surprise to receive local produce, including delicious honey and olive oil—such a thoughtful gesture. The property itself is spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of separate seating areas and a large table that was perfect for our family dinners. Our group of 15 had more than enough room to relax and enjoy. The kitchen was big, comfortable, and made cooking for a large group easy. Highly recommended! The pool, although still very cold in April, was spotlessly clean, impressively large, and had a great depth. It would be ideal if it could be heated during the cooler months, but even so, we had a perfect holiday. Highly recommended!

The stay at the villa was great. We had 9 adults and 3 kids staying (one 5year old and two toddlers) and they all loved it. The design of the villa is beautiful and there were plants everywhere. It truly felt like we were staying at a true Sicilian home. During our stay we managed to visit the most iconic cities in that region which were not that far away - max 1.5-2h drive. For wine and food lovers I would suggest to research local wineries and book tours. There are also a couple of Michelin star restaurants in the area. We also took the option to have a dinner at the villa, prepared by our lovely hosts.

Relaxed at a beautiful location and house

We were a group of 9 adults aged 28+. The check in process was easy and communicating with the hosts was quick and clear. The place is even more beautiful than the pictures show. The hosts have 3 beautiful dogs. One of the dogs, Lily, is very comfortable around guests and super friendly. The AC was much needed during our time as we had a heat wave the week we were staying, the temperature was 38°C and more whilst we were there. The pool was perfect for those extremely hot days. There are plenty of communal places and the area is beautiful. We'd like to thank our hosts again for their hospitality and their patience with our terrible Italian.

Wir waren mit 12 Freunden in der Unterkunft. Wir hatten eine unglaublich schöne Zeit. Es ist total abgeschottet. Man kann sich komplett frei fühlen. Man hört abgesehen von ein paar Tieren GAR NICHTS! Auf dem Grundstück leben Hunde. Wir kamen alle sehr gut mit den Hunden klar. Wenn man ein Problem mit Hunden hat, sollte man unbedingt vorher abklären, ob es eine Möglichkeit gibt, die Hunde vom Haus fernzuhalten. Wir können es nur empfehlen.

Deze villa is een ideale plek om met een grote groep tot rust te komen. Een afgelegen plek met veel sfeer en charme. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig, zowel in de keuken als in de slaapkamers en badkamers. Het verblijf werd erg mooi opgeleverd en wij voelden ons gelijk welkom door bij aankomst een heerlijke risottobal en biertjes te krijgen. Ook kregen we alvast ontbijt voor de eerste dag, erg handig! De host is goed bereikbaar en vindt het leuk om mee te denken. Zo heeft Ninni voor ons pizza gehaald, omdat het ons niet lukte om in het Italiaans te bestellen. Kortom, een geslaagde week met een mega zwembad en een villa die ik iedereen kan aanbevelen! P.s. We gaan de lieve honden missen ;)

Carmelo und Antonio waren wirklich sehr gastfreundliche, serviceorientierte Gastgeber. Sie haben darauf geachtet, dass es uns an nichts fehlt. Und sie waren gleich zur Stelle, wenn wir etwas brauchten. Die Unterkunft ist wie beschrieben. Natürlich ist das Mobiliar nicht mehr neuwertig aber es ist in Ordnung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Lilly - die Haushündin war immer bei uns und hat aufgepasst. Will - der große Wolfshund war auch ein guter Wachhund. Wer gegen Hunde allergisch ist, sollte darauf achten, dass Lilly gerne ins Haupthaus rein geht. Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Urlaub und der Pool ist einfach der Hammer! Wir kommen gerne wieder und möchten uns herzlich bei den Gastgebern für diesen tollen Service bedanken.

Wonderful place that I can 100% recommend. Beautiful setting in the middle of the countryside with a large pool, sun beds and cabanas in the middle of beautiful vegetation with rosemary and lavender bushes all over. The interior spaces are also beautiful, particularly the winter garden with cacti and plants. We stayed at the house with 9 people overall and had a great time. There‘s five rooms with separate entrances and bathrooms, so a great setting for a group of friends/multiple couples. Apart of the lovely outdoor, we particularly enjoyed the large and fully equipped kitchen in which we prepared food with 5-6 people simultaneously, at times. If needed, the internet connection is sufficient for occasional home office tasks, video calls did get a bit spotty at times. For us, the place was a perfect peaceful abode in the countryside - one should be aware of the distances to cities and sights, if planning to do more of a sight seeing trip, however (usually 1h-1h30min one way).

Villa Madera is a lovely spot in rural Sicily. The villa has everything needed for a group/large family stay. The rooms are well presented. Some are more spacious than others, but all have toilets and showers and comfortable beds with plenty of storage. The kitchen is very well equipped. It has everything you could need for self catering - fridges, freezer, kettle, stove, oven, loads of glasses, cutlery, crockery. The dishwasher and washing machine were also very useful. The outside area is wonderful. Great pool, sun beds, outdoor seating and dining. There is also a BBQ which we used a number of times. The villa was easy to access (about 1hr from Catania) and communication with Carmelo and Antonio was very easy. They were very welcoming hosts and sorted out any small problems we had very quickly. They also helped us to book tables and taxis and sold us some of their home produced honey, which was delicious! The villa is a few kilometres away from Caltagirone, which is a good sized Sicilian town. Very lovely, with lots of supermarkets, restaurants etc. Otherwise it is very secluded. It is a bit of a drive to see other towns, beaches, sites on the island, so be prepared for that. We were a group of 13, with three children. We would happily return!!

The house was how you expect it to be, we had a really nice time and were happy with our stay here. As we had some children in our company they provided a chair and beds . The caretakers are really nice and helpfull. They helped us order some food and if there was something that broke down or that malfunctioned, they fixed it. We had a really nice stay, the only thing is that you'll have to know that you need a car to get around here, as most things are some distance away.

Siamo stati con parenti e amici dai 3 agli 87 anni e sono rimasti TUTTI contenti e soddisfatti! il posto è confortevole, pulito, arredato con molto gusto. la cucina spaziosa è funzionale. insomma, non manca davvero niente! per una vacanza total relax...
