I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for...

”The hotel had opened about a month ago, so it was very new. The location is good and the view over the Douro valley is nice, the terraces of the hotel and the rooms' balconies make it easy to enjoy it. Chairs on the room balconies would have been nice, though. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. ”We had a nice one night stay at the hotel during our trip to the Douro Valley. Our room was clean and spacious. Not brand new but not too dated either. Service was excellent. Good breakfast. Small gym with focus on cardio machines. Magnificient views from the rooms as well as the hotel terrace/bar area! There are not many options for lunch and dinner other than the hotel restaurant, as it's a tiny village. The restaurant is ok but nothing special.”
