Guest Access:

Bring your own boat, rent one, or we’ll help coordinate a private water taxi directly to our dock. The entire home is yours, with the exception of a small owner storage area on the lower deck. The expansive Gulf beach is just steps away.



The Neighborhood:

North Captiva Island is a private, boat-access island home to just over 350 houses—offering an experience that feels worlds away from the everyday. With miles of unspoiled beaches, world-class shelling, birdwatching, incredible fishing, and a laid-back atmosphere, it’s a place where true relaxation comes naturally.



The island spans only four miles in length and about half a mile at its widest point, yet nearly 50% is protected nature preserve owned by the State of Florida. Guests have access to miles of scenic hiking trails and some of the most secluded, untouched white sand beaches in the state.



Though small, the island offers just the right amount of convenience: a short e-bike ride away you can access three restaurants (two casual, one more upscale), an Island Market for essentials, and an ice cream shop. For a more personalized experience, several excellent private chefs and wonderful boating and fishing charters are available!



With no cars, North Captiva feels like a true escape. It’s a one-of-a-kind destination—unlike any vacation you’ve ever taken, and perfect for making lifelong memories!!

• SOLAR-POWERED ISLAND HOME: Sandbar Escape is powered by a thoughtfully designed off-grid solar energy system. Because it relies on solar energy, weather conditions can occasionally affect power. The level of conservation needed may vary depending on the time of year, weather patterns, and available sunshine.

• Sandbar Escape is located in the peaceful Foster’s Bay area of North Captiva Island, offering a private, nature-forward setting away from the busier north end of the island. This portion of the island is not accessible by golf cart, which is part of what keeps it so quiet and secluded. To make exploring easy, we provide two e-bikes, perfect for cruising up island to restaurants, shops, and additional beach access. It’s about a 10-minute ride by e-bike or a scenic 30-minute walk along the beach. We love this location for its privacy, natural beauty, and wonderfully relaxed pace.

• This home in front of Sandbar Escape is under construction.

• Beach awareness: A small nearby section of beach is occasionally clothing-optional. It is typically quiet, lightly used, but we want families to be aware in advance.

• Air travel: Fly into Fort Myers (RSW) or Punta Gorda (PGD).

• Private water taxi: Direct service to and from our dock is available. We’ll provide contact and booking information after confirmation.

•Hot tub: Due to the energy consumption, the hot tub on property is not included as a standard amenity. However, when weather and energy conditions are favorable, we’re happy to turn it on for you—just ask!!
