Piazza Mazzini - Piazza Dante - Piazza Università<br>(3 days)<br>Near, but not inside, the historic “La Pescheria” market.<br>As you can see from the map, it’s well-connected by public transportation, and you can walk to the city center, as well as to the sandy beach at Plaja or the rocky shore at Cliff.<br>The house can accommodate up to 6 people: 2 in the bedroom with a double bed, 2 in the twin/double bedroom, and 2 in the living room (French sofa bed). The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for daily use, there is a bathroom (bathtub/shower/bidet/toilet) near the master bedroom and another bathroom (shower/sink/bidet/ toilet) in the single/double room, and the laundry room is equipped with a washing machine. <br>Wi-Fi is available throughout the house for internet access, along with digital and satellite TV; in addition, heating and cooling are provided by heat pump air conditioners, and there is also a natural gas stove. <br>Breakfast is not provided, but it is possible (for guests only) to book dinners featuring traditional Sicilian cuisine, with costs based on the selections.<br><br>Historic Center of Catania<br>The historic center is a hub of popular culture (the historic markets of Peseria, 100 m away, and the “Fera or Luni” district, 700 m away), shopping (the major stores are located along Via Etnea, 300 m away), and nightlife (“Movida”) (bars and restaurants within 250 meters).<br>The apartment remains quiet, as it is located just outside the heart of the fish market and the “Movida,” the entrance to the house is on the main street, but the bedrooms face a small alley used only by residents.<br>Ursino Castle (one of many built by Frederick II of Swabia) is 70 meters away; the bus stops for Plaja Beach / Scogliera / Acicastello / Siracusa / Palermo are located in Piazza Paolo Borsellino (formerly Alcalà), 250 meters away. The stops for Acitrezza / Taormina / Messina are located near the central train station, 1.5 km away.<br>Catania and Interland<br>Catania, located in eastern Sicily on the slopes of Mount Etna, is highly regarded for the Baroque architecture of its historic center, designated an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and for its beaches.<br>The Catanese coastline ranges from the golden sands of Playa, rich in tourist facilities and swimming areas (accessible via the AMT Line D) to the more rustic beach of San Giovanni Li Cuti, which instead features a rocky lava base (accessible via the AMT ‘534’).<br><br>Just a few kilometers away, you can take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Aci Castello (accessible via the ‘534’ AMT), where you can admire the ruins of the 16th-century Norman fortress, or Aci Trezza (accessible by car) with its faraglioni (the Cyclops Islands) and the island of Lachea, a nature reserve of great geological interest.<br><br>Capo Mulini is one of the most beautiful seaside resorts along the entire coast (Fondachello, Giarre, Santa Tecla, Fiumefreddo, etc.), where you can enjoy fresh fish and seafood all the way to Taormina, the Sicilian pearl known throughout the world.<br><br>Mount Etna (accessible via the AST line or the AST bus—get off at the central station), with elevations exceeding 3,000 meters, is the highest active volcano in Europe.
