”The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late.

”Net overgenomen door nieuwe eigenaars. Er waren wat logistieke issues, maar alles is uitstekend opeglost. Sommige kamers boven de 3 eeuwen oude pub, sommige kamers aangrenzend. Lekker ontbijt.

”Delightful stay with incredibly friendly & willing staff,nothing was too much trouble. A mixture of old and new & my room(in the garden block) was spacious,modern & a lovely view from the patio over the cricket pitch & down to the Tyne. Food was very good,I ate in the bar but you can go more formal if you want.
Hotel is in an enviable position,just outside Bellingham so access to roads easy. Even an indoor pool. If you like comfort,without formality,I would highly recommend.”

”Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ).
The room was very clean and beautiful inside and the small window behind the bed overlooked the forest behind which was beautiful.
Overall very quiet, the only bit of noise is people walking to and from their rooms as they are so close together but we was so tired we eventually...
