”The appartment was not clean, an heavy smell of sewer. Many places in the apartment was really dirty: bathroom curtain, oven and fridge was destroyed. There were dirty bed sheet in a wardrobe entrance. The wifi password was not given to us and after our arrival we had no answer at all from the property. Hopefully we have booked only one night. I do not recommend this place.”

”Such a weird place. The bathroom must of had 6 bars in it. One of which was just under the shower head, meaning your body was either against the cold metal bar or the curtain stuck to you. There was a sign in the room stating that you needed to close the bathroom door while showering or you would set off the fire alarm with steam. Glad this was a one night experience.”

”AVOID!
On arrival we got our keys from the keylock which was a simple process. When entering the apartment it completely stunk of cigs and w - as if people had been in there for days smoking.
Even aside from the foul smell the place is very run down, lots of marks and stains on the walls etc. The glass hob surface had a large chip/crack on it which you could easily cut yourself of.
A number is given to contact and says it's staffed until 8pm. We arrived about 8:30 but messaged basically...

”On arrival, I was given a sheet of paper to fill in, but it was so badly printed that I could not read it! The room was spacious, with a walk in shower, kettle and tea and coffee. However, the wifi did not work for me, and the TV kept cutting out, but the bed was comfortable. In the morning, there was no water from the taps, so I could not use the lovely looking shower; I had to wash with water from the kettle, from the previous evening. I feel that the staff should have been warning guests...

”Having stayed a few times over the years we knew what to expect . As usual all the staff were helpful and cheerful.
However we stayed in room 6 overnight on a very hot day and night so the room was very uncomfortably hot and made sleeping a problem. We did notice there was an air conditioning unit in the ceiling which was not operating and there was no way to control it. Very disappointing, it would have made a big difference on such a hot night. Nevertheless we look forward to our next stay,...

”Wow! The most beautiful nights stay at The Peacock, the scenery, the room, the food, the staff. I didn't want to leave. I LOVED the little touches - the Peacock shortbread, the glass bottles for water/milk, bath salts.
I've stopped in a lot of hotels and I have to say this stay beats them all. Perfect!

”Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome.”

”Good air con. Plenty of parking extra at rear. Clean room. Lots of light switches but only 1 worked. No shelf in shower to stand anything on. Taps in sink not enough height to get kettle access.
Corridor lit very dim a bit creepy for ladies on their own.
Price of drinks in bar were extortionate. Lots of cameras in bar ceiling I counted 9 at least. No intention of taking our own drink but felt like Stalag 13 with cameras watching everyone. The wedding was excellent but not a place I would...

”The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was perfect in every way. The walls are thick so no internal noise. The free breakfast was excellent. Oh and the dedicated parking space just topped it off. Highly recommend this pub as a place to stay. We stayed in room 2 with the queen bed.
Oh and lastly, the Guinness was the best I'd had in Holmfirth 👍”
