”Lovely cottage with all the amenities that we required. Situated in a quiet village within close proximity of Penrith. Nice welcome box with tea, coffee etc and even treats for the dog. Good offroad parking at the back of the cottage and an enclosed front garden. Stayed for a week, excellent location for exploring Hadrians wall, lake district and yorkshire dales. ”

”Highly recommend this beautiful B&B right in the heart of Ambleside. We had a lovely room at the top of the house, very well equipped and quiet. Breakfast was excellent. The two owners were so hospitable and friendly.”

”Brilliant uppergrade to an apartment. Very attentive, courteous and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble, even when the whole village suffered a blackout due to an electrical fault. The weather was even gracious to us, and views were spectacular ”

”We had a great room that was that was perfect for our short stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with a large on-suite. The extra space was needed as we traveled with our dog. The property has lovely grounds to explore and it’s close to pubs. I highly recommend this property. ”

”We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests...

”Beautiful old Manor House, main area and particularly the day room were snug and cosy. Room had all the facilities required. Lovely white fluffy towels and clean linen. Pillows very hard (but that is preference). Majority of staff pleasant. Food excellent. SPA a bit tired in places but thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the massage was lovely. Would book again. ”

”Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help.”
