Your backyard is 285 acres of Leelanau Conservancy land. The newly reopened Sugar Loaf Scenic Area starts right behind the townhouse, with a new summit trail and views across the peninsula to Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes, and ours is the closest building to the hill. This 4-bedroom, 4-bath townhouse sleeps 8 and puts your family in the center of the Leelanau Peninsula, close to beaches, wineries and the best of Up North.
The Sugar Loaf story
Sugar Loaf was one of the Midwest’s best-known ski resorts until it closed in 2000. Our townhouse was built as part of it, and after more than two decades the hill is open again as a public preserve. The summit trail already has some of the best views in the county, and mountain bike trails are planned for spring 2027.
The space
The layout is great for families and groups, with space to spread out across multiple levels and several bedrooms with their own en-suite baths. Cozy bedding, plush towels and soft throws are throughout. A/C units cool nearly every room, the downstairs bedrooms stay naturally cool, and fans are on hand for warm nights. The main living area has a smart TV, a Bluetooth sound system, books and board games, and gigabit WiFi (tested at 300+ Mbps) with a dedicated workspace for remote work.
Outdoors
The private back deck has Lake Michigan views, outdoor dining and a gas grill. The open green space at the base of the hill is perfect for lawn games and picnics, and the shared pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day, just steps away.
For families
A crib, Pack ‘n Play, high chair, kids’ books, toys and board games are all here. We have kids too, so if anything would make your trip easier, just ask.

Good to know
The townhouse is multi-level, with stairs between floors. Built in the 1970s, it has a few vintage quirks, like the classic green and yellow tiled showers, which we think are part of the charm. The fireplace is not currently in use. The Leelanau Conservancy is actively developing the Scenic Area, so you may see or hear some work on the hill.
