Shelving Rock Camp on Squam Lake

Welcome to historic Shelving Rock Camp on the sunny side of Dog Cove on Big Squam Lake. This house with 200 feet of water frontage was built in the 1920’s and continuously updated by the same family for the past 85 years. It’s the place where families come together to make memories.
Enjoy the lake just 50 feet from the house including two docks, a canoe slip, and a moored raft. Swim from the docks or wade in from "Shelving Rock”. There is also easy access to a swimming area down a 4-step ladder. At the end of the day, enjoy the setting sun from our expansive lakeside seating area.
The house sleeps 11 comfortably in 6 bedrooms: two with queen sized beds, three with two twin beds, and one with a single bed.
The large front living/dining room is surrounded on three sides by floor-to-ceiling windows, and an additional sitting room. There are two small, screened porches: the "Green Porch," is great for contemplating the lake and an evening sunset. The "Breakfast Porch" gets the morning sun , a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or cup of tea.
There are several kayaks, a canoe and a rowboat available. You are also welcome to bring your own kayaks, canoes, sunfishes, or paddleboats and launch them off the canoe slip. You may also rent or launch your own power boat in Holderness and keep it at our dock for your stay.

It’s a 15 minute paddle across the cove to the Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial forest's beaches and several miles of trails. Squam Lake is 6 miles long and 4 miles wide with numerous coves and islands to explore. If you’ve seen "On Golden Pond" you’ll feel like you’ve already been here. It was filmed at our cousins' house just a couple of hundred yards down the shoreline.
