Majatalot – Chalfont St Giles

”I liked this quiet, country-side atmosphere, the friendliness of the personal. Additionally, this is a true community centre. ”

”Staff”

”Not what I expected. The room itself was nice and the environment guite cute but two major issues with the stay. 1. The room temperature must`ve been above 30 degrees (even if the temperature outside was +15). Room facing the street so opening the window felt like sleeping on the street. Not a good choice if you need to get some proper rest.”

”Great hotel run by very helpful staff- beds were very comfortable and the room was lovely. Excellent breakfast ! We will be back!”

”Clean, staff great, breakfasts a great choice”

”We visited the hotel for a business meetings nearby. The place is very traditional English Inn. Nice pub with good food. The rooms are clean and ok, but the place is a little worn down. I a still like it.”

”Absolutely fantastic stay in a lovely cosy pub. Staff could not have been more helpful. The room we stayed in was amazing add to this the fantastic food and atmosphere and it all adds up to a memorable stay. We will be back again.”

”The nicest place to stay in! The service, the room, the comfiest bed, the perfect breakfast! Five minutes walk to the peaceful riverside where you can walk or half an hour with the train and you’re in the middle of hustle and bustle. And after a busy day in the city you can come back, have a nice dinner, maybe a pint and you’re already in your accommodation! ”

”The bed linen was very dirty, and there was a lot of noise in the middle of the night—apparently someone was cleaning—so it wasn't a pleasant experience.”

”Staff were great, room was clean/cleaned everyday with new towels and bed made. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairdryer all available. The location is absolutely what makes this hotel. Really close to 2 central stations, amazing restaurants, the park and Notting Hill. However, the walls were quite thin, so a lot of noise from very early in the morning, and the bed was quite small for a double. Would 100% stay here again!!”

”Both nights I stayed there were extremely loud parties with obnoxiously loud music that didn’t stop until midnight. We were not notified that this would occur and I certainly wouldn’t have stayed. Extremely inconsiderate of the staff. Would not recommend unless you enjoy being vibrated out of your bed.”

”lovely little find. Room was lovely, beautifully decorated. Fridge and aircon which are invaluable when travelling with work. Room was a little small, the others looked larger so would book one of these next time. Only improvement would be remove the shower curtains and replace with glass, no one likes a shower curtain!!”

”The room was large, bright and clean with the added bonus of a fan. Staff were polite and helpful. Evening meal was superb. If we are in Harpenden again we will definitely stay here again.”

”I would advise other travellers to be cautious, especially if arriving late or making a last-minute booking. I should also mention that I was told I would not be offered breakfast because I had booked last minute or arrived late. My experience with the reception staff made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Regardless of the price paid for a room, every guest should be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not stay here again.”

”Stayed in the hotel for one night since my congress hotel nearby was fully booked. A very positive surprise in the English countryside: friendly staff, tidy spacious rooms, good quality food. I will visit again, should my travels take me into this direction.”
