when arriving for dinner in the restaurant we were told they couldn't accommodate us as they were short staffed in the kitchen. there were only 3 tables occupied & set seating for a hundred or more. "go to the bar there are snacks available there" Consequently we had no evening meal at all. No Lift if you've heavy bags & parking is a long walk.

Loved that we could bring our dog and not charged for. We had a problem at first in that my wife is disabled and there were no lifts. The receptionist (Elle-May) changed our room so that we were as near to the car as possible. Restaurant food was excellent as well. Will definitely go there again 👍

The hotel rooms are dated... the cleaning level is so poor. the breakfast doesn't cater for none pork eaters.

The hotel was a little worn but still comfortable. Stains on sheets and carpet. Disappointed that the pool was closed one day but when it was open it was good. Staff were very kind and helpful.

Cobwebs in room, bathroom fan did not work, lightbulb in standard lamp did not work, limited toiletries. Cobwebs , bulb and fan reported to reception, no interest, nothing done . Would not stay again.

The room was really cold, windows seem to allow a lot of draft in. The bathroom was not the cleanest with grim around the shower tray.

Nice old English hotel
Ich habe 3 Nächte im Hotel verbracht und auch Fitnessraum und Sauna benutzt. Bademantel und auch ein Adapter für den deutschen Stecker wurden umgehend und kostenfrei durch das freundliche Personal zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Frühstück war kein kulinarischer Hochgenuss, aber doch vielseitig und ganz okay. Ich hatte das Hotel wegen der ruhigen Lage (neben Golfplatz) und dem Parkplatz (Auto in Sichtweite) ausgesucht. Das Gebäude mit den langen, verwinkelten Gängen hat seinen Charme. Gerne wieder!

Overall lovely weekend away! Breakfast was good and so were the facilities. The only issue is the hotel looking a bit run down and could certainly do with some repairs.

The gym was actually terrible, however the spa was lovely. The bedroom was okay but the usb charger by the bed did not work so charging my phone overnight was a big issue, no plug by the bed. The staff were so helpful! The food was brilliant, breakfast and dinner.

We stayed for one night and the facilities were very good. The food on the evening was excellent (3 courses for 3 people for £50 which was organised at time of booking) and breakfast was very good. Room was very good (although pillows were too soft). Water in pool was quite cold but gym, steam room/sauna/jacuzzi were excellent. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Big hotel, scores less than 8 on hotels.com which made me nervous, but I was pleasantly surprised…Minor issues with the coffee machine at breakfast and big queues at reception, but otherwise very enjoyable

I didn't like that I was unable to eat in the restaurant on the night of my stay as it had been entirely booked out to a convention of visiting trainee clergy. I was given no warning that the restaurant would be closed to me either at the time of booking nor at any time prior to my arrival. At 2 minutes past 6 (I.E. immediately after the restaurant's advertised opening time) I arrived in the restaurant, keenly looking forward to enjoying a 'Wild Mushroom and Truffle Risotto' only to be told that it was closed to me as it had been booked from 6:15 until 9:00pm and that I could neither eat before, nor after the block booking. This is unsatisfactory as, had I known beforehand, I would have made alternative plans. A pizza in the bar, although decent enough, was scant substitute for my eagerly anticipated, and doubtless delicious, risotto. Finally, there were no signs posted anywhere within the hotel warning of the restaurant's closure/unavailability.

Some of the staff were nice. But my room which was a very long walk from reception never opened resulting in a return journey at least once a day to get my card reset. There was no wifi in the room and the damp was bad in the bathroom. Eventually I changed rooms as there was a loud vibrating noise coming through the wall and the second room was better albeit the keycard still never worked. I also had fuel stolen from my car during the first night. Clearly this isn't the hotels fault but after raising it with them I never heard anything back

Characterfull but fix HVAC please!
Characterfull hotel, however decor is a little tired. Boiler was broken. Luke warm shower. Room was nice size but bed was well used Gym is a good size and well specified however the area suffers from high condensation air conditioning is non existent! Breakfast area was nice but not great selection Really need to revamp the heating and air con. I stay regularly and there is often some kind of problem with it

This was our second stay in just a few months. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a lovely afternoon tea with our friends. We got a room upgrade which was nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We will stay again on our next visit to the Cotswolds.

Decent stay!
It was nice stay. Especially Kate, the receptionist, was particularly helpful. Phone in room not working and staircase access to rooms with no lift access. Overall decent stay.

AWFUL DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL
Absolutely terrible! Soon as I got in the room I could hear slamming of doors loud music and banging. I asked to change rooms. They moved me to the second floor which the room was even worse. The TV did not work, the WiFi did not work, the shower did not work, the sheets were filthy. The room was cold and cramped and mould by windows. The staff were rude apart from two young girls on reception were friendly but the bar staff were arrogant rude and very unprofessional shouting and swearing at the back. All night long I could hear slamming doors, people walking in and out the corridors banging music it was awful!! The hotel is so old aswell it’s a joke. Finally - I asked if I could charge my electric car up I was hiring and they said no, then in the morning another lady said oh yes you could have and it’s free for guests - instead of being able to charge this overnight for my commute back I then had to spend 5 hours instead charging it in Cheltenham town centre and paying £35! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone it has genuinely and I mean this, been the worse stay I have ever had. Total total waste of £120

Hyvää: Palvelut/mukavuudet ja majoituspaikan kunto ja tilat
Quiet, in a secluded area, almost like a stay at a reserve. Food options could be more at breakfast for vegetarians. Service was good, Sarah at reception was the most lovely and helpful staff i had the pleasure to know. She made everything simple. Gym is good. Pool also decent. Bar food was great, particularly caesar salad! Might come back again.
