The rusted out shell of an #abandoned old car found just off a hiking trail inside Great Seal State Park. Based upon the state of decay, the style of the body and the fact that there is a 30ft tree growing up through where the engine should be...this guy's been here awhile.
Nope, not a golf course, this is a shot of Mound City. A collection of 22 earthen mounds of varying heights and sizes made by the Hopewell Indians over 2000 years ago. The mounds were threatened by the construction of Camp Sherman in 1917 to train troops for WWI. Today the site is managed by the National Park Services.
Good hiking trails, waterfalls,cliffs and great views. You can also hike down to the creek and see another island that you cant see in the photo. If your lucky you'll also see the eagles flying in the valley.

We had no interaction with the host, the door code showed up the day before our stay, nothing unusual to me. The cottage was very cute, stocked fine for us and our stay. I’m a birder and the birding and wildlife was exceptional!

The room was very nice, however it was only set up for 1 person for amenities. 1 wash cloth, 1 coffee pod. Check in was easy. Valet parking was great but we should have called for our car much earlier because we waited about 30 minutes before they brought it up. The restaurant in the lobby was fantastic. ...
