Majatalot – Christchurch

”The hotel was further from Lyndhurst than I expected and although that wasn't an issue, it was further than I anticipated. This for us was the only downside to the stay. The room was cosy and comfortable and somewhat quirky. We loved its uniqueness. The hotel restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed our dinner there on our overnight stay. We would definitely stay again as it was convenient for a stop over before embarking on a cruise the following day from Southampton.”

”Good location and parking. Rooms within main building poor and terrible smell from corridor”

”Sweet well designed and decorated rooms”

”Great location for walking or just sitting in the garden or around the log fire. Staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. Dinner and breakfast was cooked to perfection, we will be retuning for a 5th visit.”

”Nice hotel in a great location. We enjoyed our stay”

”The hotel is very well run and the hosts are very helpful. The rooms are a decent size. Although it took a while for the water to warm up in the shower. I acknowledge that this is beyond the owner’s control, but my second floor room overlooked a junction and the traffic was noisy . At about 4am a lorry collected the empty glass bottles. The noise of the crash as the glass shattered was shocking. Avoid a roadside room on a Wednesday morning….if you want undisturbed sleep.”

”Beautiful location lovely clean and tidy with friendly staff food was fantastic well recommended”

”Stayed here for 2 nights and will definitely stay again! The rooms were nice and cosy, great food options, quiet location, friendly staff and only a few minutes drive from car parks to walk in the New forest. Highly recommend”

”I have stayed a few times over the years and i think its a great value pub with rooms i stayed 3 nights and my room was good as always, the team were all good and i would recommend to friends and family without hesitation.”

”I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.”
