”We had a lovely stay. Our room was perfect for us….lovely comfy bed and a small courtyard where we had dinner delivered! We were lucky that the weather was very warm too. Our dogs were very happy and calm and safe there . I would happily recommend this room (2) for anyone travelling with dogs. Thank you Wynnstay and staff, you made our trip really comfortable.”

”Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. The only down sude was the loss of my credidit card - was is handed in to you?? Dennis Cole”

”Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu”

”Stayed for one night, with my son, for a Mazda MX5 car meet up in the car park- the reason for our stay. The hotel is very nice. We had a meal in the Savvy Fox - i like the decor. The meal was very nice - but not cheap. The twin room was very basic, but was clean and adequate for a one night stay. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. ”Quite a change since the takeover; breakfast remains excellent, and the room I stayed in has had a big makeover. Everything was really good, except for the new Car Park payment which is a bit complicated, you really need to download the YourParkingSpace app to help. I had difficulty using the QA code on the reception desk. Seems to be free parking though if you book direct ??”

”The room we had was fairly run down. In particular it had a strong and unpleasant odour. At first we thought having the windows open would help. But part way through the night the smell was so terrible we were awake. In the morning we realised it must have been mildew and mold. Some of the glass window pains had black mould, not only around the edges but in the middle of the glass. We left pretty early because we couldn't be in the room anymore. ”We stayed in an Executive run which was well maintained and spacious if a little dated. Bathroom had been updated but corners had been cut like an old siding on the bath. Air con worked well and the room was quiet overnight. Breakfast wasn’t great. Limited choices and the eggs were terrible both scrambled and fried, but it was only £10 each. ”Great little find here! Lovely pub with great atmosphere, food fab with onsite restaurant. The room was really well presented and lovely decor. My room was facing south and west on the hottest day of the year, thankfully the staff provided a fan and there was a well stocked fridge in the room too. Breakfast was continental style in the room in a lovely hamper, plus yogurts, milk and orange juice in the fridge. Would go back again when in the area. Thanks team.”
