This is our Colorado Springs Lake House! You are a few minutes walk to the shore edge. You can walk the kids over to the play ground, or take the paddle boards out for a relaxing or invigorating adventure. Downtown is minutes away as well as many attractions that you came to Colorado Springs to visit. This two bedroom, one bath house is the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring. Enjoy the yard games, hot tub and or a fire pit in the private fenced in back yard. Internet download 300Mbps upload 100Mbps

House was quite clean easy tonwork with hosts. Park/ lake just a block away was great for the kiddos. It was close to plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, etc. Beds and some of the pillows were quite firm if you like that. Outside well maintained. Only "bad" thing was the neighborhood being run down. This place is a diamond in the rough. That said we had zero problems during our two nights

We were in Colorado Springs for the firefighter memorial ceremony. This property is in a great location. Close to downtown and anything that you want to do is within a short drive. would definitely stay here again when visiting Colorado Springs.

We had a great stay! The neighborhood is a little rundown but we felt safe and neighbors were quiet and friendly. The house is nice and the perfect getaway for our little family. My kids loved the hot tub and the backyard space. It was a quick drive to all our activities and good restaurants!

Charming and comfortable home.

The property itself was clean and cozy. I was thankful that I was able to park my car in the back of property as it felt more secure. I had no issues and would gladly stay again. Thank you.

Family softball getaway

The house was adorable. We had all of the essentials needed and the host was easy to communicate with. Beds were very comfortable. The backyard was also very nice to hangout and relax. I will say the area around the home was not as safe as I would have liked for my kids. The lake is across the street, but it was not safe to let the kids play without supervision. We didn’t have any issues directly at us, but did witness issues with the locals in the area.

Not Ideal for Families

We checked in at 4:00 PM after driving around the neighborhood and quickly realized the area wasn’t what we had expected. In hindsight, we should have researched the location more thoroughly. Several houses on the street were visibly run down, and previous reviews warning to “stay away from the park at night” didn’t provide much peace of mind especially with a child.Inside, the floors were visibly dirty, and we found leftover items like hair ties from previous guests, dirt, and rocks. The hot tub was unusable, with cloudy water, dirt at the bottom, and chlorine tablets just tossed in. The top half of the staircase also lacked a handrail, which is typically required for safety when four or more steps are present.At that point, it became clear there wasn’t going to be a resolution that would allow us to stay. We checked out by 5:15 PM and booked a hotel. We reached out to the host after check out and were offered a baby gate as a solution for the stairs and were told the hot tub is cleaned weekly. When we followed up, the host relayed that their cleaners said the home was clean. Perhaps we simply have different expectations when it comes to cleanliness and safety, but again, the home was not a fit for us.We did request a partial refund, but the host responded that it would result in a loss for their family without any acknowledgment of the time, cost, and stress this experience caused ours.We wouldn’t recommend this rental for families with children.

Property was nice but not on the lake. The lake was a couple blocks away. Next door house was sketchy & there was an abandon car in front of the house. The bedroom with the king size bed was on the second floor, however we slept down stairs in the queen size bed down stairs as there was no railing on the top of the stairs. We were concerned about walking down the stairs in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. The tub was high & needs a handle to help get out of it. House was close drive to everything.

Colorado Springs long weekend

The propert is very nice and cute. Everything was clean, washer and dryer there, televesions in all the rooms, and the backyard is really nice. Has hot tub, fire pit, grill, and hammock. Beds are comfartable and nice linens. You park on the street for this property and nobody messed with our vehicle.It is very close to Memorial Park. You can walk to it, which is fine during the day. I would not go the park at night, but it is beautiful during the day. The property is a 5 minute drive to downtown, which is great. We really enjoyed going to the restuarants there, shopping, and going to the farmers market.It takes 10 to 15 minutes to get to Old Colarado City or Manitou Springs. It is about 15 to 20 minutes to Garden of the Gods, the Broadmoor region, or the Whispering Caverns.They told us about some weeds before we had arrived. It would have been nice to get this handled before we arrived, but I was thankful they told us. The lawn service was supposed to come, but had to reschedule.The neighborhood needs some improvement, but it looks like this is slowly happening. It looks like an area that is being slowly remodeled and you could see several homes being updated. With that said, I never felt unsafe. The property is a modest, well remodeled home close to downtown. We had 4 adults and it was perfect for us.

Quick Getaway

The house is the cutest little hidden gem. The landscaping is exceptional, loved the backyard as well as the hot tub after a long day of skiing. We went for a quick last minute trip and it didnt disappoint. The host had every thing we needed to cook, have coffee, you name it, nothing was missed! I love a clean and well put together house and our host didn't disappoint. Communication between us was A! Would definitely stay here again!

Exploring Colorado Springs

We stayed 6 days/5 nights at Cheerful Lake House. Positives: The house was clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfy. Beautiful landscaping front and back with a cozy fire pit and relaxing spa. It was quite warm during our stay and the A/C worked great downstairs. We used the portable A/C to cool the upstairs. Easy parking. We felt fairly safe in the neighborhood. We walked to the coffee shop some mornings and did evening laps around the lake. Our days were filled with exploring the sites in CS and enjoying some yummy food spots. Very convenient location to all. Negatives (not many!): The stairs are narrow and a bit steep. Use caution if wearing socks as they are slippery (I bit it going down). Adding an additional handrail at the top of the stairs would be helpful, especially when having to use the bathroom downstairs during the night. Overall a wonderful stay in this tastefully refurbished bungalow!
