”What stood out??? Well, for one, it was the staff. They welcomed me and gave me a lovely room. I had a table booked for 10 of my family, and the food was excellent. The wine was superb too, and I asked for a favour, which they delivered. This is one of my favourite hotels in the UK and will be my go-to whenever I go to Somerset to see my family. The only downside is the parking, but that is minuscule compared to the service I received from The Ancient Gatehouse. Well done all. ”

”The hotel was wonderful. It is clear that the 17th-century historic building is being maintained with great care and affection. The room was spotlessly clean, and I was able to spend a very comfortable time. The quality of the meals served at the restaurant was also extremely high, and I was very satisfied. I couldn't visit the adjacent Somerset Museum as it was closed, but I look forward to seeing it on my next visit.”

”Arrived pretty late but a warm welcome from the staff, the complimentary drink on arrival was well received and nice surprise. We stayed in the Langford Room which was amazing, lovely a clean, nice little things like the cookies and a welcome personalised note. Miles was excellent, spent time chatting with us and telling us about the area and where to go. Would highly recommend and will definately be back ”
