Compton Wynyates Hotellit

”I enjoyed my 3 night visit. I found the staff pleasant and the hotel a nice ambience. My room was a little tired but everything I needed. I will stay again. Great value for money.”

”Needed a last minute stay and found an absolute gem with this place. It has just been taken over and they have made a great job of the renovation. Spotlessly clean. Really comfy bed and great shower. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Nice and quiet on a night even though it faces the main road. Two minutes walk to pubs and restaurants. Fantastic overnight stay. Would 100% recommend. Good luck to the new owners.”

”A lovely place to stay to explore the Cotswolds. Very well furnished rooms and very helpful staff. Nice country pub with excellent food.”

”Simple but good for the purpose (overnight stay during a long trip).”

”Initially booked a two night stay but cut this short to one night after a horrid experience. We stayed here during the height of the 2026 summer heat wave. The hotel DID have air conditioning, but there was a sign in the room essentially stating that it was broken / deactivated. Upon speaking to the unbothered reception staff, it was discovered that the hotel once had air conditioning, but it had broken years ago and wouldn't be repaired. The room was stiflingly hot. In addition to this, the...

”The staff were very helpful and it felt homely and very comfortable. The food was enjoyable too. For an old building it was kept in good condition, nicely decorated and showed the history through artwork and photos.”

”Tired and well past its best”

”Beautiful place, amazing history and the staff are friendly and welcoming”

”Great location ,with McDonald near the hotel. friendly staffs”

”There is no one to check you in or ask questions to until after 5 pm or so. The front desk isn't staffed in the morning but I finally found someone cleaning a room the following morning. He told me they would not store my small but somewhat heavy bag for pick-up after 5 pm when a front desk person would be there. I said I didn't mind waiting until 5 pm to come back for the bag. He then changed their excuse for refusing to hold the bag to "we can't be responsible for it". I wasn't asking them...

”An old building and we had stayed just once before the current owners took on the hotel. The staff were friendly, excellent prices for drinks both in the restaurant and bar. The Sri Lankan food was superb, tasty and full of flavour, next time I'll as for it to be hotter. The room was clean, comfortable despite being in an old building. Bathroom spotless, lovely fluffy towels, perhaps a little smell of damp in them. We will certainly return.”
