“Leopoldina”, is a traditional Casa Colonica in the heart of the gorgeous Tuscan countryside. It has been sensitively converted into beautiful apartments. This ground-floor apartment sleeps 4 people, and gives guests an authentic taste of the “dolce vita”. If you are looking for a tranquil holiday destination within easy reach of some of Italy’s most stunning towns, this is the place for you!

The apartment retains many of the house’s original features with terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. The corner living area has an open fireplace and lovely wooden furniture, plus a sofa and flat-screen TV. There are two sets of double doors. One opens directly onto a private garden, the other onto a shaded terrace with a table, chairs and BBQ, where guests can enjoy meals al fresco. To the side of the living area is the kitchen/dining room, with a table for 6 people. The attractive fitted kitchen is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and drip coffee machine.

Outdoors, the gardens, both private and communal, have been as carefully considered as the interiors. Each apartment has a private lawn and terrace. There is also a second sitting area, in a small loggia, next to the entrance, which makes a lovely spot for reading or enjoying a cup of coffee. The shared swimming pool has multiple sun loungers and parasols for guests to relax.

Bedroom 1: On the ground floor, the master bedroom is traditionally furnished with a wrought iron double bed and a wardrobe. French windows lead out into the garden.
Bedroom 2: The second bedroom has 2 single beds and a wooden wardrobe.

The property is ideally situated for exploring some of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany and nearby Umbria. At the foot of the hills, below the stunning Etruscan town of Cortona (15 minutes), the villa is close to local amenities, with excellent road access to Arezzo (40 minutes), Lake Trasimeno (25 minutes), Florence (1 hour, 15 minutes), Siena (50 minutes) and Perugia (50 minutes).

The town of Cortona is well worth a visit. Its Etruscan walls contain medieval houses and Renaissance palaces. There are many excellent restaurants and cafés to suit all budgets. For guests who want to cook at home, Cortona’s weekly market takes place every Saturday. Here you will find the best local produce.
