”Nearest shops are in Bedale but there is fantastic pub in the village, the landlord is a great bloke as are the folk from the village was made to feel very welcome ”

”Great sized room overlooking the market square. Hotel offers free safe parking at rear of hotel and close to all amenities, we visited the James Heriot experience and several local pubs. Thirsk is a great location to visit other local towns like Pickering , Ripon , Northallerton and Helmsley.”

”We arrived the tv in the room didn’t work we were told it was due to a storm but later found out it was the control box. That was it left to our own devices no sorry we were told free drinks were offered but we didn’t receive anything. At breakfast there wasn’t enough room so again left to our own devices to find seating in the cold bar. We were asked at breakfast if the room needed service or a drink we said service but got neither. All in all the staff could do better. ”

”The staff were amazing at this hotel—it is a basic hotel with a nice continental breakfast and a few hot items in the morning. it’s reasonably priced. we arrived in Darlington and unexpectedly, our other hotel did not work out. We had no hotel and were panicked! We were so glad that this hotel still had vacancy and was even able to accommodate the bed type that we wanted. ”The staff were excellent especially the young man who checked us in, served dinner and served at the bar. I didn’t sleep much at all the first night because of the very hard mattress but after I asked if we could have an extra duvet on the bed then the second night I slept much better. Breakfast was plentiful but the service was very slow. We had dinner here both evenings and it was ok but again the service was very slow. We would stay here again.”
