The room was as described, a bit like a motel arrangement, with rooms on the ground floor based around the courtyard area. Bathroom had a huge walk in shower, the water pressure was brilliant and soaps etc were lovely. Bed was comfy, ironing board, hairdryer and great coffee, tea and cookies. It was clean, spacious and comfy.
Where we were disappointed was in the welcome - no information on eating, checking out or even pleasantries. We had chosen this place to stay as it was close to Gatwick, looked like a lovely pub with food, so after a long drive, we could unpack and then have a drink and a meal before settling down in our room. Having arrived at 5.30, been ‘welcomed’, we read the info in the room and headed for the bar/restaurant for some dinner. Unfortunately, service stopped at 6pm - for food on a Sunday?! This was not mentioned in any information or upon arrival.
Luckily, we found the Curious Pig in the Pantry, literally 1 minute up the road who were still serving great food and were busy.
Disappointed with this lack of transparency.
We left at 7.30, but with lack of instruction on what to do, nobody about, no lights on - we had to leave the key in the room with the door unlocked.
