”Reception was excellent. Grounds/estate amazing, miles of walking and an historic church with a 900 or so old Yew. It is worth reading the history of the place, layers and layers of it. They take beautiful care of the property. I had a beautiful room with a beautiful view right out my doors and a little patio. They do host big events ie weddings and it is not as peaceful, so you may want to check if there is a big event - IF you are seeking more quiet. I would return in a blink. In general i...

”Great hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was freshly cooked with lots of it and was delicious. Although a fan was provided, our room was very hot but our stay did coincide with the hottest days of this year so far. Would definitely stay there again.”

Our room was roomy but not particularly clean, cobwebs on windows, dirt and dusty skirting and all areas upon high had a good layer of dust. One bulb out at bedside and marks on wall and skirting that could be wiped off. Bed linen and towels were clean and soft. Shower and sink clean but toilet was not!!! Passage way to and from dining room smelt of cooking grease all the time that would suggest extractor filters...
