”This place is an oasis in the rain forest! Beautiful grounds and the staff and owner were the best! Water taxis and walking is how you get around. Ton's of wildlife and a great experience! I would call it "rustic elegance". Just one item that may bother others is there is no climate control in the rooms. That did not bother us since they all have ceiling fans, but it may be a consideration of some.”

”Chambre très propre et confortable malgré un problème de connexion wi-fi. Un seul bémol : pas de réception à l'hôtel. Notre chambre était située à l'entrée du village à l'écart de l'hôtel (15 mn du centre du village donc pas de soucis). ”We discovered that we LOVE Casa Marbella, one of the highlights of our visit to Costa Rica this time! Family owned and run, one of the oldest hotels in Tortugero, the Casa Marbella staff provides friendly, expert, and excellent customer service (boat taxi pick up at the airport, guided tours by boat and in the preserve, etc.) The hotel is small, right on the river, and quiet. We loved staying here and definitely would go back.”

”The Cabinas is close to the beach with shower at entrance so you can wash feet or body before getting to your room. The staff are kind, even if difficult to communicate at times as some don't speak English, but they do their best. The hammocks are a pleasure in the afternoon. ”Rana Roja was absolutely amazing! The owner Herardo was super nice, hospital and helpful. This place was more than advertised. They had a small and cute pool with a small waterslide which was nice addition during the warm evening. The property had many interesting walking paths which kind of felt like being on a nature tour or a hike, very cool! The owner was very helpful in making our stay comfortable and gave us good tips for tours around the area. We ended up going to a turtle watching tour...
