”I was considering the Marriot Towne Center in Charleston WV first bc my family was there. I'm glad I choose Microtel. Wow what a difference! My family was not at all happy at the Marriot and I could definitely see the upscale difference. My room was crisp and clean. The bathroom the same. The amenities in the room the best. Although the Continental breakfast was same as most, at least it was offered free. Marriot nothing free for breakfast. I chose the side facing away from parking lot bc it...

”This hotel offers decent value for money. Room was spacious, bed was ok and the bathroom clean. Plenty of parking available. The area this hotel is in doesn't seem super nice and as far as I know had limited food options especially later in the day. ”

”Only giving two stars because of the staff member who was there when we arrived and the quality of the breakfast. Otherwise, terrible experience. The staff member who checked us in was very helpful, especially when the first set of keys didn't work and again when I had to ask for extra towels (only two bath towels in a two bedroom suite booked for a family of 5). The room was gross — we found a pair of men's boxer shorts in the bathroom, secondary sink in the second suite room was not cleaned....

”The shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom were empty. They are the large pump bottles and attached in the shower. I contacted the front desk and was told that it would be taken care of. It was not. I am handicapped and was told that I would have to park in the garage. Most hotels advise the guest at check in that a hold will be placed for incidentals. This hotel placed the hold but I was never verbally told that a hold was being placed nor the amount. I have stayed at this property...

”Floor cleaning”

”We have been staying at this hotel at least twice a year for 8 years. The staff are always welcoming, kind and helpful. My complaint is that new ownership (we were told this by staff) has taken over and the cost of the rooms went up significantly. The cost has outpaced the return and sadly — we will find another place to stay in the future. This is not a reflection on the staff — they are and have always been great.”

”All the staff (regardless of what time of day you interacted with them) were very pleasant and got along with one another. The longevity of their time working for The Super 8 in Dunbar is a testament to how they’re treated by management. I stayed at the other 2 hotels in Dunbar and the owner has a big turnover of staff. If you like black mold and questionable bookkeeping (ie., billing inflated) don’t reserve at the Super 8. If you like clean rooms and honest billing then the Super 8 is the place...

”Nice hotel, just wish the beds were softer. I have back problems and have to have a soft bed so it's hard to find a hotel with soft beds.”
