”I saw a lot of negative reviews and was pleasantly surprised at how erroneous they were. Everything was clean and orderly. The desk clerk was polite, albeit a little deficient in English and clearly overworked. The cleaning staff was top-notch. The bed was clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows. ”Historic, but updated and well-maintained property. Great restaurant with excellent breakfast. Appreciated the added touch of providing the history of the facility and surrounding area. Lovely lakefront site with seating around the property to enjoy the view. The only slight minus was that my room in the southwind building was right next to the road, but very little traffic at night, so not a big issue. Would probably select a different room next time.”

”The hotel is tastefully decorated, the staff is very accommodating and congenial, and the rooms are comfortable. The only negative is the lack of daily housekeeping; you have to ask the front desk to empty the trash, etc. We stayed for 1 week and it seems the rooms are only cleaned and refreshed when the room is vacated.”

”Keys did not work. Got locked out. Took over an hour to get unprofessional staff to help get into room. Staff swearing during conversations about hotel staff not responding. Rooms lack general maintenance. Left to another hotel. No policies and procedures exist when keys don’t work. Staff stated batteries in door lock needed to be changed. DO NOT STAY HERE!”
