”We recently stayed at this lovely cottage in Carlisle with my two children and had an amazing time. The place was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage had a lovely big garden with beautiful views, and there were some great walks nearby which we all enjoyed. The host was welcoming and made sure everything was just right. We would definitely love to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!”

”Room was lovely! Stayed the night with my young son after diggerland 🚜 (only an hour away) Staff were great, room was clean, food was fab, bed was super comfortable! Easy to park, relaxing atmosphere, felt safe! Would 100% recommend 👏 ⭐ ”

”Very pleasant inn keeper. He was helpful and friendly. The breakfast choices were perfect whether you wanted a meal breakfast or something light. Rooms were clean. I worried about the stairs as I have difficulty climbing some stairs and these were not taxing on my knees, Appreciate the stay at The Old Rectory.”

”Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel ”

”No advanced notice that lift wasn't working. No ideal with 2 guest with mobility issues and 3 flights of stairs yo rooms. Also found it odd that there's no secondary glazing for noise in room but yet there was in restataunt. Breakfast was average but bacon hard and overcookec under heat lights. Didn't have the best of choices. All in all very average stay”
