”I recently stayed at The Hollis for 3 nights in Halifax. The check-in was swift and was even welcomed with a warm baked chocolate chip cookie which was a great way to settle in. Reception staff were very pleasant. We were provided a beautiful suite with a waterfront view to the Halifax harbour and enjoyed this view. ”The hotel is very nice. Easy access using the door codes. Rooms are very modern and lots of space. Like others have mentioned, the bed isn't the easiest to get in and out of but I did find it cozy as I don't have any mobility issues. Some small shelves on the wall next to the bed/outlet area would be nice for laying your phone, watch, etc. Others have mentioned the noise. ”Great location along Granville & Sackville Streets, just a few short blocks from the waterfront and terrific value for money. Room was clean and though a little small, had all the essentials including a desk with a phone charger and wifi, lots of hooks on the door, as well a cabinet to put away and hang up personal items like clothing. There were several individual bathrooms on each floor and all came with a shower. Each floor has a shared common area with a kitchen and fridge, microwave, etc....

”Promised a water view and promised to be allowed to check in at 2 pm. When checking in at 5 pm, told there would be a 45 minute wait to get the room ready. To get another room at 5 pm we were put in a non water view room, given free parking and free snacks for compensation for the non water view which we had booked months previously so we could watch sail gp from window. Disappointing for sure. We did appreciate the compensation but kind of ruined our stay not to have the water view.”

”Something of a unique experience as there isn't a Front Desk and check-in etc. is all done electronically. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. The room I had showed a bit of wear an tear but was still great value. My particular room overlooked a neighbouring bar patio which initially raised a concern about noise but I was there on a weeknight and it was fine. The hotel is situated across from a very shady looking apartment building and next to a few larger buildings that look like housing projects. The vestibule was filthy, as if it hadn't been swept or otherwise cleaned in months. The lady at the desk seemed indifferent, at best, to our arrival, as if we were bothering her. The room was clean but decorated in a way I cannot describe , only that someone liked gold painted...
