”Islington is not the most impressively clean city I've been in, but it was certainly convenient to West Stow Iron Age Village and Sutton Hoo (and no doubt many other spots in the area). The biggest problem was checking in. Although the proprietor was eventually able to contact me through WhatsApp (which I only coincidentally had installed on a phone) I was afraid that we wouldn't be able to check in when my repeated attempts (including International Long Distance telephone call) to contact them...

”Its a very small quaint fishing village. We were there on a sunday to catch the ferry so most things were closed ”

The room was a let down, it was damp on entering, plenty of dust eveywhere, the noise and vibration from the road quite bad and noise from room floor above.”

”Stayed here for a family event with my extended family. The room was spotless if a little dated. The bathroom was also exceptionally clean and the shower worked well. It does need a little investment, the furniture and furnishings are tired. Breakfast was good if limited in choice. All the team were pleasant. If you're looking for a comfortable, unflashy stay this hotel perfect.”

”Super convenient with self check in which is great when arriving late. Radiator was on full so room was super hot but it cooled quickly with the window open and radiator off. Unfortunately this let a lot of marijuana smoke into the room from somewhere. Shower was surprisingly good Reasonably convenient for the train station. ”

When I got my final bill for my stay (room and breakfast) I was asked if I wanted to add further gratuity to it which was a little surprising and made me feel a bit awkward. ”It was perfect for the lone female business self employed traveller and had everything I needed , fridge, microwave. These were a godsend. Only thing I would change is the height of the basin and mirror in the bathroom . I’m a average height female at 5’ 4” and the basin and mirror are set at a 6’2” male I’m sure lol apart from that all good would definitely stay again :) ”

”We received a very warm welcome and everything was just perfect. The room was spacious and a super king bed was very comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities in our room and even a small fridge if needed. A fan was in the room in case it was very hot. We had a good meal in a local pub recommended by David and it didn’t disappoint. The breakfast was delicious, just about anything you could wish for in a very nice dining room, we will certainly return next time we are in the area ”
