”This was a wonderful experience, very friendly staff who were always ready to help, offering glasses of chilled water in the spacious and well-furnished public rooms and alcohol in the evenings. We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna. Really good breakfasts served in bedrooms and at the nearby sister-hotel Milsoms. The fine dining at the main restaurant on the nearby River Stour was sublime,...

”The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good. ”As our first time being in the area, we chose BB Ipswitch Hotel as it was close to the train station, and we were very happy with our three night stay there. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the room was cozy and the shower was really nice, good water pressure and had the option for a rain fall showerhead as well. The food was phenomenal, we didn’t bother to look anywhere else for supper out as they had nightly specials as well as their regular menu. We had the sea bass, pork tenderloin...
