”The property was very dated, with a need of a deep clean and decor update.
Carpets were stained and our particular room had a unpleasent smell.
Overall the property has seen better days, I guess this is reflected in a lower than average room price for the area.
Staff however were very friendly and although we did not eat a main meal, the portions looked generous and other guests appeared content.

”Have been staying here a few days a week with work over these past 3 months. Stayed in many of the rooms, ate, drank, was merry, and also shared the disappointment of an English World Cup semi final in their beer garden.
Apart from the Willow Tree Birds having a fondness for pooping on my car, and the odd thing not replenished by housekeeping at times, my stays have been nothing short of fantastic. Having the microwave, fridge and utensils in room is an added bonus. Duncan, a pleasure...

”Excellent hotel! Excellent staff. I arrived late due to being held up at work so called ahead, the chap on the phone was kind enough to wait 1hr30 past the check-in deadline for me to get there, thank you! Had only booked the single room for 1 night, while the room could be classed as a little snug it was nothing less than very comfortable. The room is very well presented and incredibly clean, bed was super comfy and bathroom was spotless and of a decent size. Paid extra for the Full English...

”This is a wonderful example of historic English buildings that have been updated for modern stays without losing their architectural quirks and historical oddities. Not ideal for people with limited mobility, but we enjoyed ducking under low lintels and walking over uneven floors, some of which have been around for several centuries.
