This Beautiful country charmer is totally renovated. Weather you are looking to escape from the big city or just looking for a quite get away. This farm house is nestled on a 128 acre farm in southern Illinois. You will enjoy a tranquil stay, beautiful views, and nature at its finest. This house and farm has lots of history for you to enjoy and explore. If you enjoy fishing this is the place for you. The lake is fully stocked with bass, blue gill, and catfish. Enjoy the firepit at night while listening to all the wonderful night sounds of the country.

This place was absolutely beautiful! The home is wonderfully restored and shows the history of the property. The lake was excellent for kayaking and fishing. We saw deer near the lake in the evenings. The home is also well stocked with everything you will need for your stay.

Quiet, special place....

Our family enjoy a relaxing time together in this historic property. The interior was beautiful with everything we needed and the views out the windows were fabulous. We went on many walks and enjoyed listening to the many birds.

Wife's 40th Birthday family get together.

We stayed here for my wife's birthday. She wanted spend time with the family and go to the balloon festival in centrailia. This place worked out great. Plenty of room for our family. Relaxing in a nice clean and cozy home in the country. Would definitely recommend going here for a nice little getaway from reality and everyday life. All the amenities you need to enjoy a weekend getaway.

Beautiful property

What an amazing property... with so much history. Suzzie was a great host and was quick to respond. The house was clean, beds were comfy and kitchen was well stocked. The kids enjoyed fishing and using the pedal boats. I highly recommend it. A perfect weekend getaway for the family!

Wonderful and peaceful

This was one of my favorite stays through VRBO. The property looks like a dream. The house was decorated to a T with every attention to detail. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The complementary coffee was nice! The beds were comfortable and I slept like a baby! This house has so much history and was fun to learn about. Very glad to have found this place!

Real Farmhouse Chic

Beautiful house, great view of lake and pond. There’s a wonderful sturdy wooden swing in front yard to sit and enjoy your coffee or a cocktail. The quiet was just right, the night bugs singing and the fireflies flashing, just a great place to unwind and put your feet up and not worry about a thing. Everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the weekend. This place is well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, glassware,plates, etc. there were even some spices and seasonings, so if you forget, your meal won’t be tasteless! The yard was just right for the kids to play in and the older kids enjoyed the paddle boat and chasing those lightening bugs!

Lovely Country Home

This property was amazing. It felt like a trip back in time to the country but with all the modern conveniences of today. It is beautifully decorated, comfortable and functional. We appreciated the cleanliness, the amenities and places to walk and explore. This house has history that is well preserved--both in writing and with antiques. We couldn't recommend it more! It's close to all the small towns in Southern Illinois.

Beautiful house supplied with everything; not far from places of interest!

This house was a perfect retreat! It was supplied with every possible thing you might need including wood for the firepit. The owners are very responsive and check on you to make sure you are happy and don't need anything. The house itself, while being beautifully decorated, has much of the same wood and architecture preserved within. There's even a spot in the house that's dedicated to the history; which is actually a very interesting read. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. You name it, they had it, including a sink window that allows you to look out at the old barn and lake. The rooms were of great size with comfy beds, TV's & separate AC/Heater units. Deer were spotted in the morning and you can hear roosters from a distance. Perfect for enjoying your morning drink. This house is also not far from any of the wineries or places to see so that's another plus! We would highly recommend and hope to come back!

Had a lovely time! House is welcoming with many nice touches to make you feel at home. Cooked all our meals in the large well stocked kitchen! We enjoyed using the fire pit in the evenings. Fishing was good! Enjoyed fresh bass two nights! Saw deer each night by the lake. All questions were answered quickly by the owner. Would definitely recommend this property, and hope to return sometime!

Everything it was chalked up to be and more. Beautiful renovation with a lot of thought put into comfortable details. Peaceful location well situated amid local attractions. The host was wonderfully responsive on a couple of minor questions that came up.
