”Fantastic hosts”

”The house is spotlessly clean and it’s very well laid out , from arriving and getting key ( a lovely lady answered the bell and advised how to get the key ) . You get in as is very clean , it has 4 double rooms and one shared shower/toilet , very impressive with the lay out . I would 100% recommend and book again”

”Warm welcome from friendly staff, bedroom was spacious, clean and well equipped. Limited choice of breakfast, but it was freshly prepared, hot and delicious.”

”We had the attic room and it's very spacious. The bedroom has a huge bed that is not too soft and we slept like the dead. Dual aspect with sky lights. Fan and extra soft cuddly blankets if needed. Hairdryer, ironing board, iron and microwave. However, the fridge was the reason I booked. A seating area where you can chill without a TV on and a small book shelf with a wide variety of books. We were very pleasantly surprised. Lindsay, the owner is a lovely fellow and you could just stop and talk...

”Staff efficient but robotic and lacked empathy. Bedroom tired and the lighting was inadequate when applying make-up. Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned ”

”Clean and quiet, very comfy bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, even when I’d asked about a bowling club in Modbury that a family member used, the lovely bar staff said she’d find out for me. Fantastic full English with great sausages. Nothing seemed too much trouble Thanks for a great stay at a difficult time.”

”There is a golf course on site which means the golfers enter the building at times which creates mess on the floor apart from that room breakfast and evening meal were lovely.”

”Lovely ‘simple self-catering’ in the heart of Dartmoor. Great set of appliances to have a nice coffee and brekky in bed! Coffee and non-dairy milk included - thank you Terry :) we really enjoyed our stay and had a super sleep. The hot tub looked inviting but the weather was just a bit too miserable for us to venture out there. Next time!”

”Parking was easy and safe. Location of the property was perfect both for accessing Dartmoor and wildlife spotting (lots of unusual birds in the grounds). Staying at Two Bridges was a treat; it is a unique hotel and has an amazing history”

”We didn't make it in time to try the restaurant, but the menu looked great, as was the St Austell beer. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our rooms in the annex next door. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room had all we needed. Breakfast was from a great selection and we checked out without issue. Fantastic. ”

”Nice sizeable and comfortable room. Unfortunately it was quite hot due to it being on the second floor and after a string of hotter than usual days, not helped by the fact that the heated towel rail (from the hot water system) couldn't be shut off. But a great old pub to stay in all the same. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant.”
