Booking the room I informed the hotel we needed a quiet room because we were traveling with a four-year-old. Later I sent an email to the hotel and again requested for a quiet room. When we arrived to the hotel I once again, upon check-in, asked if the room given to us was quiet as requested and the male staff member mumbled something I thought was a yes. Then we arrived into our room, with a nice partial sea view, unpacked and went to bed. 15 minutes later the noise began. As we quickly learnt, the room was opposite to another hotel's pool area where a live band played, and would play every evening from 9pm till 11.30 pm. It was impossible to sleep during this performance. Next day we asked for a more quiet room but couldn't be relocated. We got a new room after our second night and this room was facing the parking lot, it had some noise from the traffic but was nevertheless more quiet and we were able to sleep there. However, the way our request was dismissed, especially as we were traveling with a small child, and how they handled the situation, left a bad feeling and I wouldn't stay in this hotel again.
If you are traveling without kids and like to stay up late as grown-ups usually do, there is no problem.
