”Lovely safari tent in a convenient and peaceful setting. Incredibly handy for National Water sports centre. Bed was comfy, great having separate rooms too. Worth noting that although there are toilets close by, the only showers are at the far end of the campsite so a few minutes walk away. Tent had a mini fridge and an electric kettle, but no gas hob or pans / crockery / cutlery / cups etc so need to take your own if planning on any cooking / hot chocolates etc.”

”I generally stay in 4–5 star accommodation, and based on the website description and previous reviews, I expected Hay’s Wood Retreat to fall into that category. Unfortunately, the standard of the lodge did not match the ‘luxury’ billing — in my assessment it was closer to a solid 3-star property. If you’re used to genuinely high-end accommodation, I’d recommend tempering your expectations regardless of the marketing or other reviews you may have read. It’s a perfectly adequate stay, but...

”The toilet and shower are common, with no privacy at all. The pod does not have enough space, and the common shower does not have a temperature adjustment. Not ideal for families with kids. And the cost is high for these facilities.”
