Great Location!
The property was easy to find and we were walking distach to the beach! There were come extra touches, like the toys and bikes available, books with local history, and the kitchen was well stocked!

Prefect honeymoon

Wonderful Place!
We love this place! We could glimpse the waves from the porch and hear them as well, and it's a block walk to the beach. I love the wooden walls in the main part of the house. Only two burners work on the stove, and you have to supply your own linens, soap and tp; but this house has a wonderful feel to it, and was very clean. The mattresses were firm, but soft enough to be comfy, so we all slept well. And we all saw dolphins down where the Edisto river meets the bay. A wonderful trip!

Closest to the beach we have ever stayed in Edisto
As the description shows this isn’t the most up to date rental you could find but it was just right for what we were looking for-being close to the beach!!! It had what we needed for our stay, including beach chairs and assorted beach items, there are an assortment of beach-themed children’s books and there are games. The TVs are new and up to date. For us it was a comfy beach house, and we’d love if it was available for our next visit to Edisto.

This was a great property for the price. It's a great location to fish out of: short walk to the beach, short drive to the inlet and right around the corner from Whaley's "Dive Bar and Restaurant". If you are the type person that wants modern, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you like value, location and rustic comfort, I would highly recommend it.

Bed Bugs!
The owner needs to make way more maintenance visits to her own property: numerous light bulbs burnt out; wrong Wifi network and password (had been changed to Barracuda); inadequate or non-existent instructions; and BED BUGS! This should be corrected immediately and don't rent it until done. Is this clear enough?

The renter did not see bedbugs nor notify me of bedbugs. Brad Drawdy, owner of Apex Pest Management of Edisto just completed an inspection along with two additional workers. They found no “evidence of any bedbug activity like alive or dead bedbugs, fecal staining, fecal matter, or cast skins.”

A good week in October
This is an older house, so we didn't expect fancy. But it had everything needed for a comfortable stay and we had a great week. The galley kitchen was a little tight if all four of us tried to work, but it had everything we needed. When the weather cooperated we loved having our meals on the deck. The property is only a couple of blocks from the ocean/sound so it was an easy walk for sunrise and sunset. Our host always responded with minutes for any questions we had.

Perfect location, could be cleaner
It is a perfect location, easy to get to and less than a five minute walk to the beach. Yes, the inside is dated. The porch was the best. Needs a new tub/shower in main bath and the cleaners need to look up when cleaning the added bathroom. Mildew and dust on the top of the walls. Also, dust hanging off window treatments in living room. All the blankets and comforter on double/queen bed need to be washed. Definitely need to bring own sheets, pillow cases, towels and wash cloths. There is a DVD player but it is not hooked up to the TV. Other than that, it's a decent place to use as a home base and sleep in. No extra toilet paper was left either, my daughter and I barely had enough. And we also bought paper towels.

Everything but house was good
House was very clean. Only one person could go up front steps due to overhang of palmettos. Side again palmettos were overtaking one side. Side facing front vines growing up and srubbery. I would not recommend this house. It should be taken off your list. Bad need of updating. Looks nothing like picture.

My children and I had a nice stay in the house. It’s a good price for the amount of space and proximity to the beach. It was nice that there were ample cleaning supplies available in the kitchen, as well as ample pots and pans to cook with. The beach carts and beach chairs were also appreciated. The bathrooms were clean. Amelia promptly responded to any questions I had. However, I would only recommend staying here if you are comfortable with a lower level of cleanliness. Unfortunately since I was traveling as a single mom with kids, it did not occur to me to take pictures of the bugs on the kitchen counter, stains on the bedroom quilt, dirty insides of the coffee maker, and filthy potholder and kitchen mat. I spilled a little water on the kitchen mat and dabbed it up with a paper towel, and the paper towel came up yellow. Ew. (It was not ink or dye, the mat has no yellow in it.) I do not mind that it is an old home, but some things could be done to make it feel more hygienic and clean.

Cozy and close to beach
Been to edisto about 8 times. 1st time staying here. Loved the sun room and outdoor patio. Ate most of our meals on patio. Close walk to beach. We came for rest and relaxation. Amelia respondered promptly. Hope to come back again. Great place to stay.

The house had everything we needed for a beach getaway and the location was perfect! One block away from a beach access and the house comfortably sleeps 8 people. The kitchen and bathrooms could use some updates but all the appliances worked fine!

Rustic Beach Cabin
We finally got to stay at the cabin. Originally we reserved this spot last October but had to change our reservations because we had a death in the family. Owner and VRBO worked with us to change our reservation. The cabin would work really well for a family with young children. Twin beds and a crib. Beach access 31 is just a block away. We are both 70 years old and really appreciated the few stair steps that are required to reach the front door. Wi-fi and air conditioning worked great ! We will definitely reserve this house again.

Comfortable stay
The location is excellent, close to the beach and the bike path. While it could use a few updates, the house is very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed and more. We had a couple of questions during our stay, and the owner replied immediately with the answers we needed.

A great place for R and R
The property is located only minutes from the beach. A short walk of 3 to 4 minutes. The property is nestled between larger houses. Beautiful wood interior that lends itself to a cozy cabin feel. There are numerous beach items available to use such as beach chairs, belly boards (not sure if that is the correct term), two adult bikes for riding. The owner responds quickly to emails. The air conditioning is wonderful! The kitchen appliances need some updating. This was the first time my family and I had used this property. We highly recommend it. If we return to Edisto Beach we would gladly choose this property again.

We aren't a picky family, so when I read the reviews I thought some might be simply hard to please. But no, this property should not be rented. I really wish I could post pictures of the house so you could see the crumbling bath tile in the tub and the moldy shower curtain in the other bath. My husband cut his foot on the broken tile in the kitchen. The burners on the 1985 stove do not work properly, making cooking difficult when you must set the temperature to high in order for them to work. Oh, and the dirty dishes stuffed in the oven were a pleasant surprise. The dryer has to go thru at least 3 cycles in order for your load of clothes to dry. When I contacted the owner about my disappointment she replied 48 hrs later with 'I just bought a new shower curtain, but if you want to purchase a new one I will reimburse you.' Um no, what I wanted was part of my fees reimbursed. I've stayed at various rentals at Edisto for more than 20+years. That's part of the adventure for me, is checking out the various homes. This is by far the worst we've stayed, ever. I can look past 'old and dated' but there are many safety issues at this location. I would keep searching and scrolling past this one.

Cottage away from home. It is an older home and has some issues.
The location was perfect for us. As with anything, look for problems, you're going to find problems. Nothing in this house hindered us from having a great stay. Owner was very easy to work with and very accommodating. I would stay here again.

Got worried for nothing.
Me and my group had a great time during our stay. It was a short walk to the beach and there were plenty of restaurants near by for us to go eat. The only thing that was odd was the day before we were to leave to check into the house I got a message from the owner saying there was a roof leak and the dryer didn't work. We all thought the timing was terrible for letting us know this and all we got told was we could cancel if we wanted to but they did not say anything about a refund if we did (the day before we are suppose to leave for our vacation). Mind you we had already paid for the whole trip. When we got to the house we didn't see any evidence of a roof leak, not to say there wasn't one, we just thought it was odd that they made it sound like we were going to be dealing with having to put containers down to catch water. We didn't try the dryer, we all just agreed to bring enough clothes/towels so we wouldn't have to wash clothes. All of this was unnecessary. I'm glad they told us about it but it is clear that they haven't been to the house enough to know what is actually going on down there. Overall, the price was economical and we had a great time on the beach, can't argue with that!

To be honest
The location was great. Bathrooms need updating especially the master bathroom . The kitchen tile was cracked in severallplaces. The rental was clean but could have been better. Think an exterminator needs to be called. There were bugs under the kitchen sink that were dead and a few small live ones in the second bathroom. Quite a number of palmetto bugs and wasps around the deck.. Poison ivy and shrubs around the deck need to be addressed. There was no way to get to outside shower except though the house. With a few improvements this could be an outstanding rental.

House with Character
We are looking forward to staying again at the house when repairs are complete - Dryer and leaks from roof fixed, new appliances or at least new stove, toaster oven, and microwave, kitchen and bathroom floors. Close to the beach and great air conditioner, good internet and tv reception. Deer have a path in the backyard. It is an older house and with these repairs has a great potential of being a great older house!

A Cozy home
Nice Cozy home minutes away from walking distance to the beach. Place has all kitchen needs and beach equipments for use, so you don't have to bring much. Dryer didn't work to dry clothes, so we just dry our clothes outside. It was perfect! :D Thanks for sharing your home with us!

We rented this place last year. We notified the owner of several problems. This year the same problems existed and a couple of more were present this time. I don't plan to rent this place again. It wasn't as clean as it should be. The air filter was filthy and didn't appear to have been replaced in a very long time. I have asthma so this was a big deal to me and my breathing. Two of the deadbolt locks didn't work properly of which we notified the owner last year. One door lock was missing the inside lock with this door having a deadbolt lock not working so this door could not be secured properly. Disappointed with the lack of upkeep of the place.

Perfect for Us
We loved staying here. If you are someone who wants fancy, this is not it, but it was charming, homey, comfortable, and really close to the beach (at a great spot--a point with Atlantic to the left and inlet to right). Beds were comfy and house layout was great. We loved the enclosed porch with windows that do open so you can hear the ocean. A rare find!
