Clean and comfortable room, OK breakfast, nice evening meal, though note that if you book dinner the drink they offer you is NOT included, which only became clear at checkout! ”Returning to this historic hotel for a third visit was just as enjoyable as ever. Although my room was smaller this time, it was still beautifully maintained and very comfortable. I was especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in at no extra cost, which made my trip even more relaxing. The food remains outstanding, and the staff continue to provide a genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful service throughout. I was in Whitehaven for an event over the early May bank holiday weekend, but...

”The hostel is cozy, located close to the lake, and within a short drive or a hike from Scafell. The food at the restaurant is fantastic. There is also a kitchen which can be used to cook your own food. The staff are all very friendly.”

”Amazing location and amazing hotel. We loved our stay however it could do with some refurbishment. It is a dog friendly place so maybe could do with a deep clean in the restaurant area. The food was good but all the dog hair everywhere was a bit unpleasant. However we would still come back.”
