”Dinner menu is good and servings great. We were surprised at breakfast when they allocated each room to a table. It helps when starting the day You have to choose the breakfast menu and time the night before but that's better for both the property and the guests as both will know what to expect ”

”We loved our stay at the hotel, the room was amazing and the views that came with the room were too. All the staff were really lovely but the lady in reception who dealt with us was especially helpful to us. The breakfast was really nice too. All in all a really nice night away and would recommend.”

”Pretty remote so if you’re out driving, make sure you become familiar with the (fairly convenient) bus schedule, although it’s a half mile from the bus stop, or be prepared to pay a healthy taxi/Uber fare from Keswick. The grounds are lovely and rooms/common areas well-maintained. Breakfast doesn’t start until 0745, very inconvenient for an early start. Staff could be a little more helpful in pointing out bus schedule, local attractions, arranging cabs, etc. a nice experience overall.”

”What lovely staff, so friendly. This is the best place i have stayed in yet on my Coast to Coast walk. Breakfast was amazing, apart from the usual full english (which loses its novelty after 5 days!) chose eggs benedict which was perfectly cooked and made a lovely change. Room was spacious and bed comfy. All together a great place to stay.”

”Amazing location and amazing hotel. We loved our stay however it could do with some refurbishment. It is a dog friendly place so maybe could do with a deep clean in the restaurant area. The food was good but all the dog hair everywhere was a bit unpleasant. However we would still come back.”

”Returning to this historic hotel for a third visit was just as enjoyable as ever. Although my room was smaller this time, it was still beautifully maintained and very comfortable. I was especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in at no extra cost, which made my trip even more relaxing. The food remains outstanding, and the staff continue to provide a genuinely warm, friendly, and helpful service throughout. I was in Whitehaven for an event over the early May bank holiday weekend, but...
