”What a surprise we found at the Athenaeum, a grand hotel from the 19th century, on beautiful Lake Chatauqua. On arrival, we found ourselves entering a gated community spread along the lake shore, with wonderful 19th and 20th century summer homes, within walking distance of the hotel. The entry to the hotel opens into a large traditional open lobby where the front desk sits opposite a wide staircase to the second and third floors, alongside a comfortable bar area where one can order food and...

”Clean room. Comfortable bed. Walk in closet. Fridge, microwave, coffee pot & a small sink in the room perfect to clean up any dishes. Clean bathroom & large room. The man at the front desk was so nice. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area. ”

”It’s a lovely, kitschy place. It was the first stop over on my cross country road trip and it could not have been a more appropriate slice of Americana. The folks who run it are very kind and helpful and I felt safe there. It’s not modern, but that’s its charm.”
